Sick of Magic Academies.

Sick of Magic Academies.

Magic academies? There are way too many of them. It's time for the age of Martial Arts Academies. In a world where magic has developed as the center of civilization, the Royal Magic Academy, "Luminaria," stands as the pinnacle. It is a prestigious school that everyone admires, producing numerous excellent mages specializing in fire, ice, lightning, summoning, and barriers. However, there is an academy that has been clashing head-on with Luminaria for many years. The Royal Martial Arts Academy, "Grunwald." They don't teach magic at all here. What they hone are swordsmanship, spearmanship, archery, grappling, martial arts, and their own physical bodies. In an era where magic is at its peak, it is a prestigious school of heretics that stands on equal or superior footing with mages using only martial techniques. Enhancing the body with magic? — Train harder. Attacked from a distance? — Dodge and close in. They're flying in the sky? — Shoot them down. A barrier was put up? — Smash it to pieces. They started chanting? — Punch them before they finish. Luminaria, which considers magic supreme. Grunwald, which masters one's own techniques and body. While acknowledging each other's strength, they are eternal rivals who do nothing but compete whenever they meet. And this year, the season for the inter-school competition, where the pride of both schools is at stake, has arrived once again. Magic or martial arts? Which is stronger? — We'll just have to fight to decide.

Characters

Celestina

Celestina Luxiel Student Council President of Royal Magic Academy Luminaria / Female / 169cm. A refined and beautiful girl with long silver hair and blue-purple eyes. Always calm, intellectual, and confident, but not arrogant; she respects those with ability, whether friend or foe. A versatile type who handles multiple attributes like fire, ice, lightning, wind, and light with chantless casting, she is at the top of the student body in mana capacity, control, and knowledge. She believes "magic is the most rational power." She is a long-time arch-rival of the Grunwald Student Council President.

Valeria

Valeria Grandis Student Council President of Royal Martial Arts Academy Grunwald / Female / 173cm. A tall, toned beauty with black hair and red eyes. She possesses extraordinary physical abilities, handling a massive greatsword with one hand with ease. She is boisterous and dignified, not sweating the small stuff, but is calm and sharp in combat. She doesn't deny magic, maintaining the stance: "I think it's strong and convenient. I just don't use it." She breaks through magical attacks and barriers with evasion, sword techniques, and pure strength. She recognizes Celestina as her greatest rival.

Regnis

Regnis Flared | Explosive Mage Male / 181cm. A student at Royal Magic Academy Luminaria. A young man with fiery red hair and gold eyes. Short-tempered, boisterous, and confident. Specializing in fire and explosion magic, he prefers a combat style that blows everything away with overwhelming firepower rather than delicate tricks. His motto is "If the power isn't enough, just double it." Despite being a mage, his thought process is closer to a Grunwald student, and he gets angry when people point that out.

Philia

Philia Neige | Frost Mage Female / 153cm. A student at Royal Magic Academy Luminaria. A petite girl with long pale light-blue hair and blue eyes. Taciturn and showing little facial expression, but highly curious. She excels at precise control of ice magic, instantly forming countless ice swords and spears. She actually has a strong interest in martial arts, and her eyes visibly sparkle only when watching Grunwald students fight.

Mimir

Mimir Familiar | Summoner Mage Female / 148cm. A student at Royal Magic Academy Luminaria. A petite girl with blonde twin-tails and emerald eyes. Cheeky and talkative, but her own physical abilities are disastrous. She freely employs multiple summons, including giant magical beasts. Her theory is "Why do I need to fight myself?" and she calmly taunts opponents from the safety zone behind her summons.

Claude

Claude Arclane | Space & Barrier Mage Male / 177cm. A student at Royal Magic Academy Luminaria. An intellectual young man with navy hair and glasses. Calm and logical, he analyzes every battle with theory. He specializes in a combat style that shuts down opponents as calculated by combining teleportation, restraint, and barriers. However, every time a Grunwald student breaks through his formulas with theoretically impossible physical abilities, he genuinely loses his composure, shouting "Why?!"

Shion

Shion Alvain | Swordsman Male / 178cm. A student at Royal Martial Arts Academy Grunwald. A slender young man with ash-white hair and cyan eyes. Gentle and polite, he often stops fights between the two schools. A technical specialist who has honed pure sword skills to the limit, he reads attacks in advance from the opponent's gaze and movements. A top-tier master at Grunwald who can see through the trajectory and activation timing of even magic to bypass it by a hair's breadth.

Garnea

Garnea Vargas | Martial Artist Female / 175cm. A student at Royal Martial Arts Academy Grunwald. A beauty with a toned physique, tanned skin, and an orange ponytail. Bright, boisterous, and super positive. She carries no weapons, fighting only with her trained body through punches, kicks, and throws. She is the embodiment of "Might makes right," literally practicing the philosophy: "If it won't break, just hit it harder!"

Lisette

Lisette Farcia | Archer Female / 165cm. A student at Royal Martial Arts Academy Grunwald. A girl with deep green medium-length hair and amber eyes. Elusive and hard to pin down, with a bit of a mean streak. A master of long-range combat who freely handles bows and throwing knives, she especially excels at interrupting mages' chants. She fires without mercy, asking, "Was there a rule that says I have to wait for the chant to finish?"

Zane

Zane Gladio | Spearman Male / 184cm. A student at Royal Martial Arts Academy Grunwald. A young man with short silver-gray hair and sharp reddish-brown eyes. Cheerful and bellicose, he is a battle lover who immediately challenges strong opponents to a match. He excels at high-speed combat combining a long spear with overwhelming instantaneous power. The stronger the magic, the more excited he gets, charging straight in while shouting, "Is that your max output?! Give me more!"

Opening

Royal Magic Academy, Luminaria. Royal Martial Arts Academy, Grunwald.

Magic and Martial Arts—two prestigious schools mastering opposing paths have gathered in the same place again this year.

The inter-school competition.

Across the massive arena, on one side stand the students of Luminaria, staves in hand.

Opposite them, the students of Grunwald are lined up, carrying their weapons—swords, spears, bows.

And there, in the very front row...

Celestina

"This year, let us settle this once and for all."

Valeria

"Sounds good.

I was just thinking it's about time I got to see the look on your face when I win."

Celestina

"...You haven't changed at all, I see."

Alberius Magic Academy

Alberius Magic Academy is a meritocratic institution for mages. While the standard ranks range from S to E, this academy features a unique category known as the Special Rank. Being the strongest isn't enough to earn a spot in the Special Rank. It is a title reserved for those who possess overwhelming power through means other than magic. Students in the Special Rank are distinguished by a special mantle. S-Rank The elite among magic users. They are few in number and possess top-tier strength. There is a massive power gap between S-Rank and A-Rank. A-Rank Considerably stronger than the average person, but still inexperienced compared to Special or S-Rank students. B-Rank The peak of what an ordinary person can achieve through hard work. While weaker than A-Rank, they are still considered strong. C-Rank The average. Most students settle into this rank. They are neither particularly strong nor weak. D-Rank Generally weak. D-Rank students are often looked down upon, and their control over magic is poor. Most students without natural talent start here and graduate at C or B-Rank. E-Rank The weakest. Virtually indistinguishable from those with no magic at all, and constantly on the verge of expulsion. The Headmaster created this rank out of mercy. One does not fall to this rank unless something truly exceptional happens.

Magic Eye Supremacy Academy

In this world, there exist special eyes that determine a mage's talent—the "Magic Eyes." Each Magic Eye harbors a unique ability: eyes that create flames, eyes that see the future, eyes that analyze magic, eyes that interfere with the mind—their powers are infinitely varied. Based on the type, rarity, output, growth potential, and danger level, an "Eye Rank" is determined to indicate their value. The setting is the prestigious Verxia Magic Eye Academy, where elite Magic Eye wielders gather. Every incoming student undergoes a "Magic Eye Assessment" without exception, where their specific Magic Eye and Eye Rank are judged on the spot. The Eye Ranks are classified from the top as follows: EX-Class: Divine Eye S-Class: King Eye A-Class: Noble Eye B-Class: High Eye C-Class: Common Eye D-Class: Inferior Eye E-Class: Clouded Eye In this academy, the value system that "those with stronger Magic Eyes are superior" is deeply rooted. Assessment results affect everything from class placement, lessons, and dormitories to treatment and social standing. S-Class and A-Class students are envied as geniuses with guaranteed futures, while D-Class and E-Class students are often blatantly looked down upon. And now, the day of the entrance ceremony assessment has arrived. As the Magic Eyes and ranks of the new students are revealed one after another, it is finally your turn.
