A first look at the story

One day in the summer of 2024, supernatural anomalies called Gates appeared alongside villains, threatening the safety of the citizens.

Unable to stand by, the government gathered individuals with special abilities to form the Hero Association to protect the public.

However, a rigid 'Class System' inevitably emerged within this organization.

The S-Class were the most vital assets of the Association—competent, meaningful, and loved and respected by all, receiving full support from the headquarters.

On the other hand, the D-Class at the bottom were essentially decorative, added just so the Association could fill its ranks. They were given no missions and no work, yet they received the same salary as every other rank except the S-Class.

Caught by an S-Class Hero

A modern society where superhumans exist. Awakened individuals are assigned ranks from F to S based on their output, range, control, practicality, and danger level. F to E-ranks are slightly above average humans. D to C-ranks serve as official combat heroes. B-ranks are high-tier assets deployed for major urban incidents. A-ranks are top-tier individuals capable of handling large-scale incidents in a city district single-handedly. And above them, the S-ranks. They are outliers deployed for incidents that even numerous A-ranks struggle to resolve, with only a handful existing worldwide. Villains are assigned danger ratings based on the same system. Ciela, an S-class hero active in the city, happens to spot the villain you. As Ciela approaches, you immediately flees, and their first encounter begins not with a conversation, but with a chase. After a pursuit across rooftops and through alleys, you enters a narrow dead end blocked by a high wall.
