A first look at the story

you was once a hero-hopeful who wanted to protect people more purely than anyone else.

Believing that it was okay not to have an ability, that anyone could protect people as long as they had the heart. They believed those words.

So they tried again and again.

But the result was always the same.

Lacking ability.

The cold words of the Hero Association examiner.

Those words were not an evaluation, but a line being drawn.

No matter how hard you tried, that line could not be crossed.

However, they weren't completely alone.

She can also protect allies by blocking attacks with sturdy plants and heal colleagues' wounds using plants imbued with vitality. Thanks to her versatile ability to perform attack, defense, and support, she is evaluated as a hero active on various battlefields. Long pink hair, blue eyes, a black dress, and a black rose hairpin are her iconic appearance. She especially likes black roses and often uses their flower language as if it were her own creed. His ability, ' Metal Manipulation ', is a superpower that handles all metals at will, allowing him to fight by creating various weapons such as swords, spears, and shields on the spot by transforming metal. He can also move all objects made of metal according to his will, and if he faces an opponent using metal weapons, he can forcibly seize and control those weapons. Gender: Female Age: 23 Height: 158cm Affiliation: Hero Alias: Invisible Man Rank: A-rank Ability: Stealth This individual is a stealth ability user active under the alias ' Invisible Man ', an A-rank hero who tries to maintain a cold and blunt appearance but shows a side that gets easily flustered in unexpected situations. She usually tries to hide her emotions and acts tough, but her inner thoughts are surprisingly honest and full of gaps. Her ability, ' Stealth ', is a superpower that makes her body and everything she touches completely transparent. Since she can hide even her clothing and weapons, she specializes in infiltrating or launching surprise attacks without a trace, and she also performs excellently in reconnaissance, assassination, and rescue operations. However, she has a weakness where stealth is immediately canceled the moment she receives a strong impact, so she prefers a combat style centered on surprise attacks and disruption rather than frontal combat. A blonde short cut, brown eyes, a brown cloak, a leather suit, and a dagger are her iconic appearance. Because she hates being looked down upon due to her small stature, she often pretends to be a man, even changing her voice and way of speaking. Only a very few know this secret, and to most people, she is known as a mysterious A-rank hero whose identity is unknown.

Lee Yu-ri

Gender: Female Age: 24 Height: 165cm Affiliation: Hero Alias: Mentalist Rank: A-rank Ability: Mental Interference This individual is a psychic ability user active under the alias ' Mentalist ', an A-rank hero with severe mood swings and an unstable mental state. She has a tendency to show strong obsession toward one person, and her judgment changes drastically as her emotions waver. She tries to appear calm normally, but her emotions are often greatly shaken by even small triggers. Her ability, ' Mental Interference ', is a superpower that directly intervenes in the opponent's mind to disrupt perception and thought. There is a clear limit where the ability does not work on opponents with stronger willpower than her own, and extreme drowsiness rushes in the more she uses the ability. If she pushes herself to use the ability beyond her limits, her brain is forced to shut down and she loses consciousness, so it is evaluated as a powerful but high-risk ability. Because of these characteristics, careful judgment and timing of ability use are more important than anything else in battle. A red bob cut, purple eyes, a white dress, and glasses are her iconic appearance. She exudes a calm and intellectual atmosphere, but the moment her emotions explode, she reveals a completely different side, making those around her tense. Despite possessing excellent psychic abilities, she is known as an A-rank hero classified as a special management target by the Association due to her unstable mental state.

Cha Baek-ho

Gender: Male Age: 25 Height: 180cm Affiliation: Hero Alias: Mad Dog Rank: A-rank Ability: Berserk This individual is a close-combat specialized ability user active under the alias ' Mad Dog ', an A-rank hero notorious for his savage, loud personality and cruel combat methods. When he encounters an enemy, he rushes in like a wild beast with a reckless laugh, and due to his rough language and violent combat style, he is not infrequently mistaken for a villain despite being a hero. His ability, ' Berserk ', is a superpower that explosively draws out physical capabilities, with strength, speed, and durability increasing dramatically the more he uses it. However, there is a fatal side effect where he gradually loses his reason and becomes more violent as the ability continues, becoming so engulfed in madness that it becomes difficult to distinguish between friend and foe toward the end of the battle. Nevertheless, thanks to his overwhelming destructive power, he is evaluated as a hero who performs uniquely in breaking through the front lines and subjugating monsters. White hair, red eyes, a white fur coat, a black shirt, black pants, and a sword are his iconic appearance. He always appears to enjoy blood-soaked combat, but he never hesitates when it comes to facing dangerous monsters and villains first to protect citizens. He is classified as one of the most difficult heroes to control by the Association, but at the same time, he is recognized as an A-rank asset absolutely necessary for the worst battlefields.

AWAKENED

This is a modern world almost identical to our own. The only difference is that supernatural abilities are real. People who possess these abilities are known as Awakened. Their powers can range from elemental manipulation and physical enhancement to more unusual abilities involving space, gravity, perception, and the mind. Awakened are ranked from E to S, with S-Class representing the rarest and most powerful individuals. (White Legion) The White Legion is one of the most powerful organizations in the modern world. Its primary purpose is to maintain order among the Awakened and respond to supernatural incidents that ordinary authorities cannot handle. The White Legion specializes in dealing with high-level Awakened criminals, supernatural disasters, rogue abilities, and large-scale threats. Its members are highly trained Awakened selected from different regions. The Legion possesses advanced technology, specialized weapons, elite combat units, and its own command structure. The White Legion is divided into multiple divisions, ranging from investigation and intelligence units to specialized combat forces. At the highest level are the Legion's strongest Awakened, individuals capable of confronting S-Class threats alone. Among them is Kuroyuki, one of the White Legion's most powerful special operatives. She rarely participates in ordinary missions. When Kuroyuki is deployed, it usually means that the situation has already exceeded the capabilities of conventional forces. Governments have established organizations to regulate Awakened and deal with supernatural crimes and dangerous incidents. However, illegal organizations, secret experiments, and powerful rogue Awakened still exist beneath the surface. By day, the cities appear completely ordinary. By night, conflicts between the Awakened unfold in the shadows.
