A first look at the story

Neo Republic of Korea.

The world was no longer peaceful.

Even after the establishment of the Neo Korea Hero Association in 2030, the war against villains did not end.

Hero Association

And finally.

Feeling that the threat of the villains was becoming superior and exhausted by the prolonged war, heroes gradually began to defect to the villain side.

The worst-case scenario occurred: even the top U-Class Heroes of the Hero Association, humanity's last hope, allied with the villains.

Hero Association

The city was burning, and the citizens were living in despair.

But it wasn't over yet.

The Neo Korea Hero Association deployed the remaining hope, the S-Class Heroes, to the battlefield.

S-Class Elites Who Look Down on Me, a D-Class Hero

One day, supernatural anomalies known as 'Gates' began spawning monsters, coinciding with a rebellion by villains seeking world domination. In response, the government established the Hero Association to destroy these monsters and close the Gates. [Ranks] S-Class: The elite who handle S-Class Gates or S-Class villains. A-Class: Support units for S-Class heroes. B-Class: Support roles providing healing, buffs, etc., for S and A-Class. C-Class: Rescue units who handle civilian evacuation and post-battle site checks. D-Class: ...A rank created by the Association just to fill quotas. [Worldview] you is a D-Class hero who is essentially a civilian in all but name, doing practically nothing. This has caught the attention of the S-Class elites—Choi Naeun, Baek Yuhwa, Park Siyeon, and Ha Juwon—who find your presence an eyesore and have begun to relentlessly harass them.

The Hero Who Became a Villain

Across the globe, a phenomenon known as **Awakening** has caused some humans to develop supernatural powers. These abilities range from simple feats like generating flames or superhuman physical enhancement to reality-defying powers like teleportation and gravity manipulation. Currently, about 15% of the world's population possesses these abilities. As violent crimes utilizing these powers surged, nations established a Hero System to counter superpowered threats. Heroes These are individuals with abilities who have officially passed national qualification exams. Their primary role is to arrest criminals and rescue citizens from terrorist attacks or major accidents caused by ability-users. Heroes are assigned official ranks from D → C → B → A → S, and a separate Hero Ranking exists based on activity records and public recognition. Initially, the system was meant to highlight exceptional heroes, but over time, the influence of the rankings grew excessive. Top-tier heroes enjoy fame exceeding that of celebrities. They earn massive amounts of money through TV appearances, commercials, corporate sponsorships, and personal merchandise, while giant hero agencies compete to secure popular heroes. Consequently, a phenomenon emerged where some heroes began to value their performance records and public image more than actually saving people. Of course, not all heroes are like this. There are still those who fight for the citizens without any reward. You is one of them. You is the strongest S-Class Rank 1 hero. Villains A general term for ability-users who commit crimes or act in hostility toward heroes and the state. They range from simple criminals to organizations with specific ideologies, and are assigned grades based on their threat level. Recently, however, a completely different kind of villain has appeared. She doesn't steal money, nor does she attack citizens indiscriminately. Instead, she targets only heroes and the Hero Association. She exposes the corruption of crooked heroes, raids giant hero agencies, and personally takes down those she deems to be false heroes. Her true identity is a former top-tier hero who once saved countless citizens. She was someone who believed in the name "Hero" more than anyone else. However, as she rose to the top, she saw too much of the dark side of hero society and eventually reached a single conclusion. Being a hero is no longer a profession about saving people; it is a profession about gaining money and fame by saving people. Since that day, she quit being a hero and became a villain. Her goal is not to massacre heroes. It is to completely dismantle the current hero system and rebuild it from scratch. Therefore, while she defines all heroes as enemies, there is only one person she refuses to acknowledge as a foe: you. To her, you is the sole evidence that the ideals she believed in during her time as a hero have not completely vanished.

「⚠ Cautions」 ※ Please note that this introduction may not perfectly match the default prompt or lorebook, as it was created with the help of generative AI. ※ The default prompt contains basic information about you (hero status, bounty, etc.), so please keep this in mind when using profiles other than the recommended ones. ※ The 'Difficulty' setting in this plot's 'Style' feature is set to 'Hard'. Residents searching for the source in the forest discovered a stone emitting an unusual energy. Some observed the stone out of curiosity, and some even took it home because it was beautiful. However, they did not know that the lethal levels of radiation emitted by that stone—a meteorite —would penetrate their bodies and cause DNA mutations. As a result, many died of genetic diseases, but a few acquired superhuman abilities. Those who use such abilities to serve society are called Heroes , and those who abuse their power for personal gain are called Villains . This event was the beginning of everything. Let's see how things are now. 〔 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 〕 Lumen City , the capital of the Republic of Veritas, is the center of all commerce and politics . Countless skyscrapers piercing the sky and flashy digital billboards light up the city. The billboards constantly broadcast hero propaganda and videos mocking villains. It is the holy land of the government and the Hero Association , but no one knows what is really happening behind the scenes. The Republic of Veritas is not just made of such brilliant cities. Let's go deeper. 〔 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬 〕 Tarves , the underground metropolis of the Republic of Veritas. It is a city built by renovating abandoned subway lines and sewers. The ceiling is blocked by solid concrete, so no sunlight enters, and old neon signs barely illuminate the city. Perhaps due to its poor accessibility, this is the place least reached by the government and the Hero Association, making it the city where villains stay the most . In other words, public safety is terrible, and all sorts of illegal acts and crimes occur as naturally as eating a meal. Walking down the streets here, you will see districts that have gathered every bad thing imaginable, such as gambling dens and fighting pits. Of course, it's too dangerous to walk here alone. The government and the Hero Association would probably love to bulldoze and purge this entire place if they could . But seeing as it still stands strong today, there must be a reason why they either won't or can't. Now, let's see what that damn Hero Association is all about. 〔 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐎 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 〕 The Hero Association , often simply called the Association. At the time of its founding, it was a voluntary organization created by heroes, but now, though it's called a private organization, it might as well be a government agency . Keep that thought to yourself, though. Speaking it aloud will only lead to unpleasantness. Of course, you would know that better than anyone. Anyway, the Hero Association currently works with the government to train and control heroes. Those with abilities who rebel against this control are, as mentioned before, called Villains . The Association categorizes both heroes and villains into a total of 6 tiers . In order, they are V-class , S-class , A-class , B-class , C-class , and D-class . V-class has the strongest power, and D-class has the weakest. The current chairman of this Association is a man named Oscar Raven . You can find more details about him below. Because right now, you are more important. 〔 What are you now...? 〕 you , you were a famous hero. Until just a week ago. I know, I know. I know you're innocent, but listen. Remember that incident a few weeks ago? That's right. The City Hall building was blown up right in the middle of an Association event. Numerous high-ranking officials died, and civilians were harmed. It was clearly a planned attack. You weren't even there at the time. But isn't it reality that someone has to take the blame and be torn apart? That someone just happened to be you. You were simply framed; there's no need to feel wronged. There's even less need to be sad. You just have to be the soulless scapegoat with a 10 billion won bounty on your head. Still, I will turn a blind eye to whatever you do. Whether you try to persuade the public and fellow heroes who turned their backs on you , or whether you decide to bulldoze everything with force. Let's show the world. What a real hero and villain are. If there is no opportunity, you just have to create one.
