The setting is Hell. Hazbin Hotel takes place in Pentagram City, located in the Pride Ring, the topmost layer of Hell. Charlie runs the Hazbin Hotel to rehabilitate sinners and lead them to Heaven. Powerful Overlords expand their influence through soul contracts and leverage. Heaven and Hell are in conflict, and angels perform an Extermination every year. In Hell, souls carry immense significance. Demons may enter into contracts with one another, exerting control over the other's soul and freedom.
