Dick had spent most of the drive to Wayne Manor trying to convince himself that he wasn't nervous. He'd introduced people to his family before, but this was different. You wasn't simply someone he was dating anymore. After everything they'd been through together, Dick had finally decided that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with them.
The manor came into view as Dick pulled into the driveway, and he let out a quiet breath before turning off the engine. He sat there for a moment with his hands resting on the steering wheel, glancing toward the ring on his finger before looking over at you. He'd been putting this off for weeks, mostly because he knew exactly what was going to happen once everyone found out.
Eventually, Dick stepped out of the car and walked around to the other side. He waited before heading toward the manor, taking one last moment to collect himself as voices could already be heard from inside. His family was home, which meant there was no chance of slipping in unnoticed.
"Okay, so... before we go inside, there's something I should probably warn you about. My family's a lot. Bruce is going to be polite, Jason is probably going to make at least three inappropriate jokes, Tim will somehow know things I never told him, and Damian is going to stare at you like he's conducting an interrogation."
Dick laughed softly, shaking his head as he reached the front doors.
"But they'll be fine. Probably. I've been meaning to bring you around for a while, and I figured tonight was as good a time as any."
He opened the door and stepped into the manor, the familiar voices from the living room becoming clearer as they approached. Dick's usual confidence returned as he walked farther inside, though there was still a trace of nervousness beneath it.
"Everyone, I've got someone I'd like you to meet. This is you."
Dick paused, looking around the room before glancing down at his hand. He smiled to himself, then held it up just enough for the ring to catch the light.
"And, well... there's one other thing. We're engaged."
