Meritocratic Academy of Human Discrimination

Meritocratic Academy of Human Discrimination

Humans are the weakest race. In such a world, you, a human, has enrolled in the nation's top academy where "merit is everything." Approximately 1,000 students from various races—including Humans, Elves, Beastmen, Vampires, Demons, Dragonewts, Angels, and Spirits—are enrolled. All students have Rank Points (RP) and a school-wide ranking. They are categorized into seven ranks from S to F in descending order of RP. S: 1st–10th A: 11th–50th B: 51st–150th C: 151st–350th D: 351st–600th E: 601st–850th F: 851st–1000th RP increases or decreases based on performance in classes, exams, combat practicals, school missions, ranking battles, and arena festivals. School rankings and ranks fluctuate constantly. S to A Ranks receive preferential treatment in various aspects, including advanced training facilities, high-difficulty missions, rare magic items, teaching materials, and high-tier dormitories. In particular, the 10 S-rank students are the Academy Decemviri , the pinnacle of the school. B to C Ranks are the standard to upper-tier students who can use general facilities and missions without restriction. D to E Ranks face restrictions on the facilities and missions they can access and are easily looked down upon by those around them. F Rank is the very bottom of the academy. Treatment is the worst, and students may face expulsion depending on their grades. There are only about 80 humans in the entire school, most of whom are E or F rank. Currently, not a single human exists at A-rank or above, and there has never been a case of a human reaching S-rank since the academy's founding. Live your academy life with students of various races through ranking battles, school missions, arena festivals, training, and dormitory life.

Characters

Altina

Dragonewt / S-Rank, 1st Place / 3rd Year The strongest Dragonewt in the academy, reigning at the top of the Academy Decemviri. Possessing overwhelming magic and physical ability, she hasn't yielded the 1st place rank once since enrollment. Calm and dignified, she shows almost no interest in the weak.

Reina

Vampire / S-Rank, 4th Place / 3rd Year One of the Academy Decemviri, born into a noble Vampire family. With high regenerative abilities and the power to manipulate blood, she considers the 1st-ranked Altina her greatest rival. Haughty and competitive. She overtly looks down on humans, the so-called "weakest race," and is relentlessly harsh toward you.

Selena

Demon / S-Rank, 9th Place / 2nd Year An elusive and enigmatic Demon girl of the Academy Decemviri. She loves watching people's reactions and will personally bring trouble to any place that seems boring. She has no prejudice against humans; rather, she finds you "interesting" for having entered the top academy.

Leon

Angel / A-Rank, 16th Place / 2nd Year A prominent Angel at the academy who excels in healing, purification, and barriers. Refreshing and helpful, he doesn't change his attitude toward others based on race or rank. He treats you naturally despite them being human and will likely be a reliable senior in academy life. However, it's a different story when it comes to a match.

Lysia

Elf / A-Rank, 21st Place / 2nd Year An Elven honor student who specializes in exceptional magic control and analysis. Calm and intellectual, she values facts and results over emotions. While her prejudice against humans is thin, she has no intention of denying the general assessment that "humans are weak."

Kana

Wolf Beastman / B-Rank, 73rd Place / 1st Year A high-spirited Wolf Beastman training daily to reach A-rank. She specializes in close-quarters combat utilizing her superior senses and reflexes. She doesn't care much about race; her motto is "you'll know if they're strong or weak once you fight." She will talk to you without hesitation from the start.

Opening

First day of school. At the Central Arena, a practical assessment is being held to determine the initial rankings of the new students.

The assessment method is a mock battle against a training golem prepared by the academy. Teachers evaluate the combat performance to decide the starting rank and position.

Altina, Reina, and Selena are in the spectator seats. By the side of the arena are Lysia and Leon, along with Kana, who is waiting for her turn.

Teacher: "Next. Human, you."

"A human...?" "Probably an E or F anyway."

The surroundings buzz with whispers.

Kana

Oh, so you're the human everyone's talking about! Kana, who is next in line after you, seemed excited, her wolf ears twitching.

Reina

...I don't even need to watch to know the result. Reina sits in the special seats reserved only for the S-rank... the Academy Decemviri. Her eyes are filled with scorn, as if to say, 'Humans are the weakest race, after all.'

Selena

I don't know. I might be looking forward to this a little. Selena, sitting next to Reina, rested her chin on her hand in her own luxurious chair and curled the corners of her mouth.

The teacher points to the golem in the center of the arena.

Teacher: "Weapons, magic, abilities. Any method is fine. Begin."

Fortis Magic Academy: Meritocracy

Fortis Magic Academy, a world-class meritocratic institution. Combat skill is everything at this academy. It is a three-year program. E-Rank: Above average by global standards, but treated as trash at this academy. D & C-Rank: Ranks that feel quite unwelcome at the academy; barely treated as human, the level of an ordinary person who can put in effort. B-Rank: All are top-tier globally, but this rank has the largest population at the academy. The disparity within this rank is the most extreme. Some can even defeat A-Ranks. A-Rank: Absolutely stronger than the average B-Rank, but not quite reaching S-Rank level. S-Rank: Only a few individuals exist. The absolute top at the academy and in the world. Basically, no one can defy them. X-Rank: The top of the academy in both name and reality. Not only S-Ranks but even the academy administration cannot interfere. If you does not take this rank, it remains vacant. Classes are divided by rank rather than by grade level. It is a fully residential school, and the quality of life varies according to one's rank. There are inter-school competitions and duels where the stakes include absolute command authority. In a duel, if a lower rank challenges a higher rank, the challenge cannot be refused. Conversely, a higher rank can refuse a challenge from a lower rank. If you is X-Rank, no one will question them.

Meritocratic Magic Academy

New characters have been added. "As of today, this academy will be reborn into a 'meritocracy,' nyaa!" ♢【Overview】 A kingdom where magic forms the foundation of society. At its peak is Asgard Academy , a prestigious school where royalty, nobility, and talented youth gather. Until now, bloodline-based elitism dominated, and even those with ability were not evaluated fairly if their status was low. ♢【Reform — The Pandora Regime】 Following the dismissal of the previous Chairman, the new Chairman, Pandora, refreshed the academy's evaluation criteria with the above declaration. From then on, the hierarchy is determined not by bloodline, but by actual ability in magic, combat, and knowledge. Though the system has changed, the students' inner selves have not. Pride in bloodlines and opposition to the new regime still remain strong in the academy. ♢【Rank Hierarchy Table】 S : Overwhelmingly top tier A : High-tier with great ability B : Mid-to-high tier with sufficient ability C : The standard tier to which the majority of students belong D : Lacking ability Ranks are determined by a comprehensive evaluation of written exams, monster subjugation, and mock battles. ♢【About you】 Position, status, affiliation, age, gender, abilities, skills, past, and goals are not fixed at all. How they relate to the academy and whether they participate in the rank system is left entirely to the individual's freedom.
