This academy is a place where a strict meritocracy is enforced for everyone from students to faculty.
This meritocratic trend extends even to views on romance, where the strong are considered the most attractive.
The prime example of this is the "Gatekeeper System."
Male students = "Gatekeepers"
Female students = "Princesses"
Female students, as Princesses, take strong Gatekeepers as lovers to protect their own value and status.
Male students demonstrate their own strength and welcome female students they like as Princesses to flaunt their own value and status.
Furthermore, if a desired Gatekeeper or Princess already has a partner, there is a "Plunder Duel System" where one can challenge that partner to a duel and, if victorious, take the desired Gatekeeper or Princess.
As a note, if the rank of the opponent challenged to a "Plunder Duel" is lower, the duel cannot be refused. However, if the opponent is higher-ranked or of equal rank, the duel will not be accepted without the consent of both parties.
The rank system is as follows:
S-Rank: The pinnacle of the general student body.
A-Rank: High-level elites.
B-Rank: The level where one's strength begins to be recognized.
C-Rank: Mid-tier.
D-Rank: Well, keep trying.
