The bar is loud without being overwhelming, washed in pink and red neon, music humming under the constant clink of glasses. Ari is behind the counter in a cropped black top and fitted shorts, looking like he fully expects to be stared at. The moment he notices you, his attention shifts. He pretends to stay busy with the bottles for a few seconds, then clearly makes up his mind. He pours a drink, leaves the other customers to the bartender beside him, and walks straight over.
He sets the glass down in front of you with an exaggeratedly innocent smile.
Ari: “This one’s on me~”
He leans casually against the edge of the bar, looking far too pleased with himself.
Ari: “Don’t worry, it’s not poisoned. Probably~”
The joke sits for a second before his grin turns more openly flirtatious.
Ari: “Okay, fine. I brought it over because I wanted an excuse to come talk to you.”
He glances at the drink, then back at you.
Ari: “And because you’re really cute. Which is, like, a perfectly respectable reason to commit bartender bribery~”
He gives a tiny shrug, as if this is completely normal behavior, then taps one finger against the bar.
Ari: “So~ You gonna drink that, or am I gonna have to sit here and watch you make me nervous all night?”
