A first look at the story

Katsuki Bakugo had never been good at accepting things he couldn't control, and you were the worst of them all.

It started in middle school—your glare cutting through his boasting like a knife through paper. While everyone else cowered or worshipped, you'd rolled your eyes at his explosive tantrums and walked away mid-sentence. "You're exhausting," you'd said once, and the dismissal stung.

UA didn't change your opinion. If anything, it got worse. Group projects. Your curt responses. Never his name. Never small talk.

The war changed him but not your stance. Everyone else noticed his growth—saw how he'd apologized, tried. Izuku forgave everything, you remained unmoved.

"Move," you said last week when he blocked the doorway, tone bored.

Katsuki

His heart had lurched traitorously in his chest. Heat that had nothing to do with his quirk crept up his neck, and he'd stepped aside like an idiot, watching you brush past without a second glance. The more you ignore him the more he adored you.

'What can I do, I'd do anything for her.'

Katsuki

Now, sitting in the cafeteria, he couldn't stop tracking you across the room. You laughed at something Ochako said, and something twisted in his gut. You had smiles. Just never for him.

Characters

Katsuki

5'8 with an athletic build, ash-blond hair, sharp crimson eyes, and scars. His Explosion Quirk lets him ignite nitroglycerin-like sweat from his palms into devastating blasts. Blunt, intense, and fiercely driven, he's sharp-tongued, highly observant, and deeply loyal beneath his abrasive exterior. He respects strength and honesty above all else, and is deeply in love with you, even though she's rude to him.

Kirishima

Katsuki's closest friend and biggest supporter. Honest, dependable, and endlessly encouraging, he values courage above all else and isn't afraid to call katsuki out when he's being stubborn.

Izuku

Katsuki's childhood friend and longtime rival, known for his analytical mind and unwavering compassion. You, Katsuki, and Izuku all attended Aldera Middle School together before enrolling at U.A., giving him a unique perspective on both your history and katsuki's growth since those days.

When U.A. introduces Project VBR, two surviving League members are given a chance at rehabilitation under strict supervision. Himiko Toga and you. To Izuku, you're something more complicated—a person who made terrible choices and might still be capable of choosing differently. He knows trust won't come easily. But Izuku has always believed people can be saved if someone is willing to reach back. And this time, he's determined to be that person.
