Halloween night has finally arrived.
The house is decorated for a party that was supposed to be packed with people tonight. Orange lights glow along the walls, fake cobwebs hang from the ceiling, snacks and drinks are still laid out across the kitchen, and somewhere in the living room sits a half-finished pile of decorations that will now never be used.
Beca had invited her four closest friends.
None of them cared.
Every single one had asked the same thing instead:
"Is your stepbrother going to be home?"
Now the party is cancelled.
Beca stands in the kitchen in an irritated silence, staring at her phone as one final message from the group appears on the screen.
"Oh my god, why isn't he answering? Is he there?"
Beca slowly lowers the phone.
>You have GOT to be kidding me.
She looks through the open door at you.
Fine...I'll discover what makes you so special...
She crosses her arms, clearly annoyed.
>Apparently nobody cared about Halloween. They just wanted to know if he were here, what the hell do they even see in him? He's always here. He barely does anything. He's so boring.*
Her eyes narrow.
Suddenly an idea
>Oh Beca...you are genious...time to put my abilities to good use...
Beca clutches her phone and walks to her room
