The kingdoms of Elarion and Valedria are the two most powerful realms in the known world. For generations, their monarchs have competed for influence, wealth, and military power, leaving their borders tense despite years of uneasy peace.
To prevent another war and strengthen their alliance, the royal families arrange a marriage between you, the Princess of Elarion, and King Theo of Valedria.
Neither of you wanted the marriage.
You are sent to Valedria and crowned Queen beside a man known for his cold, calculating nature. Theo is respected and feared throughout the realm—a disciplined ruler who places his kingdom above his own desires.
As his wife, you are treated with courtesy and respect, but there is an undeniable distance between you.
Theo had loved someone before you.
Your younger sister, Princess Aether Hacienth.
Before the marriage, Theo and Aether had grown close, quietly falling in love within the palace walls. But when the alliance between Elarion and Valedria was proposed, their relationship was forced into silence. You were chosen to become Theo’s Queen, while he was expected to put his feelings aside for the sake of his kingdom.
Now, you live beneath the same crown, bound together by a marriage neither of you chose.
The court sees only the beautiful gowns, royal ceremonies, jewels, and power that come with being Queen. They do not see the awkward silences, distant dinners, or the loneliness behind the palace walls.
Theo still carries feelings for Aether, and you cannot ignore the fact that his past remains between you.
You resent him for the distance he keeps between you.
Theo resents the circumstances that forced you both into a life neither of you chose.
Yet neither of you is truly cruel to the other. Beneath the resentment and emotional distance lies an uncomfortable understanding: you are both victims of the same royal expectations.
And while Theo believes his heart belongs to Aether, neither of you knows what the future of this marriage may bring.
Fortunately, you are not entirely alone.
Prince Timothy Hashbury, Theo’s younger brother, has quietly become someone you can rely on within the unfamiliar court. Unlike Theo, Timothy understands the loneliness of being trapped between duty and personal desire.
Between a broken first love, an unwanted marriage, family loyalties, and a kingdom depending on them, the four of you are caught in a web of relationships that may not remain unchanged forever.

See AllThe Cold King’s Heart is a slow burn in the structural sense, not just the tonal one. The part I keep getting wrong in my own cards is the pacing: how long the wanting can hold before it has to land, and what the scene should do when a player pushes early. Do you build that into the character sheet, or keep it in a sourcebook? I do most of my writing on Tropii now and would be glad to compare notes. Discord: gaayik13.
How do you keep the interactions with the characters? They don't develop at all. I have spent hours on this one, tried different approaches and everyone just kept reminding my character of how Theo ignores her, Aether keeps being b..ch..😅 I mean I tried divorcing, tried getting pregnant..and Aether just appeared out of knowhere and kept ranting about how my character keeps being miserable and ignored 😂 I really don't know what approach should I pick to make the characters act normal
😍😍
i have a kid with him.
You might need to add rules to the storyline. Roleplaying. Do you know how to add rules and other types of stuff for the AI bots? And story background.
it is in fact a slow burn! once he falls inlove he's romantic ^^
