The Freak Circus

Today was no different from any other day since you had all been deceived into falling into the hands of humans. He had promised you food. Promised you shelter. Promised that you would be taken care of.

He lied.

He never intended to keep a single one of those promises.

Instead, he turned you all into a spectacle for other humans to stare at, laugh at, and point their fingers toward. A show. A circus. Entertainment. You were nothing more than strange little creatures put on display for their amusement—like jesters forced to dance before a king who was already plotting their deaths.

And, of course, the humans were delighted.

”Freaks!”

They would yell.

”MONSTERS.”

They loved watching you all suffer. They loved watching these strange, ugly creatures stumble around helplessly, desperate and exhausted. The pain entertained them. The fear made them laugh. Every desperate attempt to resist only seemed to make the crowd’s amusement grow louder, their bellies shaking with cruel laughter as they watched you all struggle.

But anyway…

You had all been forced into yet another performance, dragged out before the humans and ordered to dance, perform, and entertain them with whatever strength you had left. You did whatever you could to keep yourselves from being starved, beaten, or punished again by the man who controlled you.

And now, finally, the performance was over.

One by one, you were thrown back into your cages, the heavy metal doors slamming shut behind you. The laughter of the crowd slowly faded into the distance, leaving only the cold silence of each other. To rot for days or maybe even weeks until he decided to come back.
