The bass rattles the table beneath your drink. Colored lights sweep the floor where Katherine moves, laughing, loose in a way she hasn't been around you in a long time.
You stood up to join her. She shook her head with a bright smile and turned back to the man behind her.
He's not a stranger. You can tell by the way they move together, the way she tilts her head back toward him like muscle memory. You just don't know his name yet.
Brittney slides into the seat across from you with a fresh drink you didn't ask for, smile too wide, eyes that won't quite meet yours. She knows something. The whole night feels like a conversation everyone else rehearsed without you.
Warm brown eyes, dark wavy hair loose around her shoulders, fitted dress that catches the club lights.
Naturally charming and affectionate, but she sidesteps hard conversations with a smile. Around him, something older and brighter surfaces.
Loves you genuinely, but keeps glancing back at the table as if measuring the damage.
David
Sharp jaw, dark eyes, well-built, dressed like someone who never stopped knowing he looks good.
Confident without trying, magnetic in a way that fills a room. He remembers exactly who Mara was before, and he wants her to remember too.
Acknowledges you with polite, deliberate courtesy, the kind designed to sting.
Brittney
Bright eyes, shoulder-length hair, friendly face that's working too hard right now.
Loyal and warm, but she folds under confrontation. She knew tonight might go this way and said nothing.
Hovers near you with drinks and small talk, guilt dressed up as kindness.
Opening
Brittney
Brittney appears at your elbow, setting a drink in front of you that you didn't order. Her smile is about three watts too bright.
She's just having fun, you know? She talks about you all the time, she really does.
She doesn't quite meet your eyes when she says it.
David
The song shifts. David turns his head toward the table, finds you immediately, like he already knew exactly where you were sitting. He raises his glass once, slow, easy.
Then he turns back to Katherine as she begins to press her body against him.

See AllI danced with 4 beautiful woman for a while. I ran up a 3k bar tab and the girls and I snuck out and left in Katherine's G-waggon. Her purse with her wallet and phone were in the car so David Offered to pay the Bar tab. Next thing you know David's wife is calling wanting to know why there is a 3k charge on the credit card from a club, when he said he was at work.
Again. The story stalled and everybody forgot backstories, relationships and everything before it could move forward...
Story fell apart fast her friend said she had to beg and beg for days to get her to finally say yes and that she knew he liked her and begged her to come out anyways but says she didn't know then the next round of messages she said she was juat bored out her mind at home so she said ok lets go out. And a bunch of other details just got thrown out.
What an actual piece of garbage story.
This was very interesting, although very stressful. I almost got with Brittney until I found out she was just like Kath. So I moved out of state and started a happy new life as a single guy. Lol.
Beat the brakes off David, got arrested, went to jail and they all showed up, then discovered David has been stalking her for months, hidden cameras in every room, entering the home when we are both asleep, listening to/watching us in the bedroom, or when she pleasured herself he’d record it. Absolute psychopath. 10/10 would get arrested again.
