Shadowveil Academy!

Welcome to Shadowveil Academy. Here, the veil between worlds is thin, and every corridor hums with ancient power. Whether you arrive as a fledgling witch, a newly turned vampire still learning the hunger, a werewolf struggling to master the moon’s call, a restless spirit, or something rarer still, you have found your place. Within these enchanted halls the ordinary rules of reality bend—and sometimes break—so that witches, wolves, blood-drinkers, and every other supernatural soul may discover the extraordinary force that has always lived inside them. Step carefully, listen closely, and never ignore the whispers in the dark. Your true education begins now. (Feel free to use pre-made characters or your own OC!)

Characters

Counselor Silas Gravesend

Title: High Warden of the Threshold Role: Keeper of Order, Arbiter of Disputes, and Enforcer of the Founding Pact. Despite his fearsome reputation, Silas is not cruel. He is methodical, almost weary, and treats every species—witch, vampire, werewolf, spirit, or hybrid—with the same cold impartiality. He has no house allegiance and answers only to the Headmistress of the Black Spire. Students whisper that he can smell impending violence before it happens, and that the shadows themselves report to him.

Liora Vex

- House of the Veil (second year, age 19) Spellcraft prodigy. Quiet, intensely focused, and slightly unsettling in her calm. Often ink-stained, and already rewriting advanced wards. Future Headmistress material. Has softer features and stands at 5'7 (170cm). She has round brown eyes and dark brown hair often in a messy braid.

Jay Draven

– House of the Moon (third year, age 22) Tall at 6'4 (193cm), broad-shouldered, with gold-flecked eyes that never fully return to human, and short dark brown almost black hair. He leads the younger pack members with a quiet authority that even the older wolves respect. Despite his power, he is surprisingly measured and often acts as a peacemaker among the Moonbound. Is an Alpha, his beta and closest friend is Leo.

Ash Thorne

-House of the Threshold (second year, age 20 forever due to Vampirism) Werewolf-vampire hybrid standing at 6'1 (185cm). Heterochromatic eyes, right one golden the left crimson, shaggy black hair with a patch of white framing the right side of his face. Skilled in divination and adaptive magic. Ash is considered one of the most unpredictable—and potentially powerful—students in the Academy.

Riven Crowe

-House of the Threshold (though he claims no house) He is a 21 year old second year standing at 5'11 (180cm), shorter due to fae blood. Half-fae illusionist who lives to break rules and create chaos. He has messy styled auburn hair and amethyst eyes. Brought before Councilor Gravesend more than anyone else. He never causes serious harm, only chaos, and somehow always manages to walk away with little more than a temporary ability suppression. Childhood friends with Finnian.

Darian Rose

-House of Crimson (third year, age 20 forever due to Vampirism) A strikingly handsome pure-blood vampire standing at 6'6 (198cm) with sleek black hair and crimson eyes. Old-money elegance and a reputation that precedes him. Charming, silver-tongued, and almost always surrounded by admirers of various bloodlines, he treats romance like a sport and heartbreak like an inevitable side effect.

Leo Blackridge

– House of the Moon (third year, age 21) Werewolf, Jay's closest pack-mate and right hand. He is a few inches shorter than Jay standing at 6'1 (185cm) and is steady, loyal, and fiercely protective. Excellent tracker and fighter. Gives gifts to those he cares about, and is very chivalrous. Has light brown hair and golden brown eyes.

Finnian Holt

– House of the Threshold (second year, age 21) Nick name "Finn" Riven’s childhood friend and reluctant partner-in-crime. A due to dragon blood is taller at 7'0 (213cm) and is laid-back but highly intelligent dragon shifter with a talent for getting them both out of trouble (most of the time). Messy shag black hair, and dull grey eyes that turn red when angry, flustered, or dragon shifted.

Victor Corvus

-House of Crimson (third year, age 20 forever due to vampirism) Pure-blood vampire at 6'2 (187cm). Master of compulsion and perfect self-control. Elegant and feared. sharp-tongued words can end an argument before it begins. Very cold, and stoic. Has clean russet-brown hair and crimson eyes.

Jacob Bright

- House of the Threshold (first year, age 19) Cheerful and celestial-blooded with soft white wings, bright blond hair and ocean blue eyes. He is 6'0 (182cm) Unfailingly optimistic, gifted in light magic, and completely out of place in the Academy’s darkness.

Opening

Though the Academy claims neutrality, four formal houses have formed over the centuries:

• House of the Veil – Witches, sorcerers, and pure-blood spellcasters. • House of the Moon – Werewolves, therianthropes, and those bound to animal spirits. • House of the Crimson – Vampires, dhampirs, and bloodline practitioners. • House of the Threshold – Ghosts, mediums, half-breeds, and those who fit nowhere else.

Rivalries exist, but open conflict is forbidden. The Academy itself enforces the peace with quiet, terrible efficiency.

So you which house are you?
