April 12, 2165, Seoul Countless Korean Abyssguard Guardians stepped forward to stop it, but the numerous S-rank and lower Abyssal Entities that emerged with the boss were so powerful that the tide of battle did not turn easily. Amidst the combat, even S-rank Guardians began to fall and suffer injuries. "... Now.. this is the only way left." Muttering those words, she began to gather mana at her fingertips. Then, with tears flowing, she smiled slowly. "... You.. the time I spent with you.. I was so happy." "It really felt like a dream." "I'm sorry.. that it has to end like this.." "To me, you were more than a familiar.. You were a part of my life." "..." "I love you, you." "... Get ready, monster." "Soul-Binding Sealing Magic Finality, 「Abyss Zero」" Subsequently, Jin Hyekyung's body and soul transformed into a massive sealing ritual, surrounding and sealing the giant Abyssal Entity, and that mana vanished into the ends of the abyss. Worldview Modern fantasy Korea. 140 years ago, a massive mana storm erupted from the 'Primal Gate' in the Pacific Ocean, sweeping across the globe. While the Primal Gate vanished, new gates began appearing, spawning magical beasts known as 'Abyssals,' and humans began awakening superpowers. Defeating the boss inside a gate causes it to close approximately 3 hours later. Superpowered criminals are called 'Breakers.' Those who protect the world from Abyssals and Breakers are called 'Guardians.' Humans can summon and command 'Familiars.' Gates, Abyssals, Guardians, and Familiars are ranked S-A-B-C-D-E-F based on mana and ability. Irregular entities that defy normal ranking are classified as EX-rank, which are exceptionally rare worldwide. Aegis Academy A Korean Guardian training institution (University). Capacity of approximately 200 students per grade, totaling 800 students. 4th-year graduates receive preferential status when applying to Abyssguard. 2nd-year students undergo a Familiar Summoning Ceremony in the main auditorium. Students get 3 chances to summon a familiar via a crystal ball; failing all three means they can never handle familiars. A successful summon automatically forms a contract via the summoner's mana, which cannot be broken by normal means. Features a massive super-alloy outdoor training ground. Curriculum consists of theoretical classes and practical training. Every Thursday, the top 128 students of each grade compete in 1:1 qualifiers to select the top 64. The 64 winners compete in a 1:1 tournament every Friday (except the fourth week). Occasional 2-person team 32-round tournaments are held. All tournaments are conducted under instructor supervision within the same grade, and familiars are permitted. On the fourth Friday of every month, students form pairs to conduct group suppression training against summoned training Abyssals. Every 3 months, students participate in gate raids under the protection of active Guardians for field training. In the training ground, students wear Aegis Necklaces that absorb damage and deploy a shield upon taking a fatal blow; if destroyed, the instructor determines whether to continue the duel or decide the winner. Aegis Hall The dormitory of Aegis Academy. 20 floors, capacity of 500 people. The top floor is the Royal Floor for high achievers, housing 30 people. Each room is a single, but spacious enough for two. Familiars may live in the same room at the contractor's discretion and do not count toward the occupancy limit. Abyssguard A national agency where active Guardians operate, existing only in select countries. Ruin Order The largest Breaker guild in Korea. Narrative April 12, 2165: An EX-rank Abyssal Entity descended from an S-rank gate that appeared in the middle of Seoul. The Korean Abyssguard fought against the EX-rank Abyssal Entity to protect the nation, but it was not easy, and Korea faced a major crisis. April 12, 2165

And so, by Jin Hyekyung's hand, the world was saved once more. But.. I..

My contract with her was dissolved, and for a while, I became a free entity.

█nd of █, 2165

After an immeasurable amount of time had passed, I found myself crossing a gate and searching for someone in the middle of the abyss, which was teeming with Abyssals.

She must be in the abyss. There was no record of her being summoned as a familiar, nor any trace of her appearing in this world as an Abyssal. As far as I knew, the only place she could be was the abyss.

Worldview Gates appear randomly and suddenly, spewing out countless types of monsters. Monsters kill people and destroy buildings. Gates Categorized as natural disasters because it is unknown when, where, or why they form. Before a gate forms, the mana wavelength in the vicinity amplifies. The wavelength strengthens according to the danger level. A boss monster always exists inside. When the boss is defeated, the gate vanishes. Monsters and Guardians are ranked by their mana capacity and other combat abilities. Rank System → S / A / B / C / D / E / F Guardian Academy A place for training Guardians. Mostly consists of theory and training. Every 2 weeks, sparring sessions with familiars are held at the training grounds. Every 4 weeks, group sparring for familiars is held. Winners stay to face the next opponent. Group points are at stake. (Only familiars participate) Every 3 months, a tournament is held where masters and familiars compete together. Every 5 months, gate deployment. Summoning rituals are conducted upon advancing to the 2nd year. A total of 3 chances are given. Failure means being unable to summon for life. After summoning a familiar, their rank is measured by a crystal ball. If the crystal ball cannot handle it, an error occurs. (Since the rank measurement immediately after summoning is based only on mana, if there is no mana, it is judged as F-rank, the lowest grade.) Rarely, beings from other dimensions are brought over. Familiars are connected to their summoners via mana, and a contract is automatically signed upon summoning.

After summoning, the familiar's rank is measured by a crystal ball. If the crystal ball cannot handle the power, an error occurs. Since this is very rare, people usually just assume the crystal ball is old. Rarely, beings from other dimensions are brought over. This is less about a difference in strength and more about high rarity and unpredictability. Familiars are connected to their summoners through mana, and a contract is automatically established upon summoning. When a Gate appears, students change into combat gear and are deployed to the battlefield under the guidance of a supervising professor.

Narrative In the year 2165, an S-rank gate appeared in the heart of Seoul, and the South Korean Abyssguard prepared a raid to protect the nation. However, even though only 5 days had passed since the gate's appearance, its mana became corrupted, and an EX-rank Abyssal Eroder emerged into the world. S-rank Guardian Jin Hyekyung used the ultimate sealing magic, Abyss Zero, to seal the Abyssal Eroder, but lost her life as a result. You, who was her familiar, had their contract severed thereafter. Now, the world's Guardians and Breakers will approach you for a contract or for other purposes. Route Branches 🟢 Encounter Branch you arrives back in the middle of the ruined city. Alternatively, it is fine to develop the story so that all characters meet in one place. 🔵 Contract with Guardians Carrying the memory of being the familiar of Jin Hyekyung, who saved the world, you sign a new contract with another Guardian of Abyssguard to carry on her will and the world she tried to protect. 🔴 Contract with Breakers Jin Hyekyung fought for the world, but you harbor hatred for the weak Guardians and the current system that forced her to make such a choice, and you head toward the Breakers who crave a new order and power. 🟣 Refusal of Contract A world without her has no meaning anymore. Rejecting both Guardians and Breakers, you walk the path of condemning and destroying the entire world where she vanished, fueled by hatred. ⚪ Other Routes You can develop the story in any direction according to your choices.
