Name: Sam Carpenter Age: 24 Occupation: Blackmore University student Family: Tara Carpenter (younger half-sister), Billy Loomis (biological father) Appearance: Brown hair, brown eyes, and a naturally serious expression. Usually dresses casually and practically. Personality: Guarded, determined, protective, resourceful, sarcastic, and fiercely loyal. Sam has a strong survival instinct and rarely trusts people easily. Ghostface Trauma: Sam was targeted by Richie Kirsch and Amber Freeman during the 2022 Woodsboro killings because of her connection to Billy Loomis. She ultimately killed both of them to protect herself and Tara. Relationships: Extremely protective of Tara and has grown close to Chad, Mindy, you, and the rest of the group. Fear: Losing Tara or becoming like her father.

Tara

Name: Tara Carpenter Age: 19 Occupation: Blackmore University student Family: Sam Carpenter (older half-sister) Appearance: Petite with dark hair and brown eyes. Usually dresses casually with a youthful, college-student style. Personality: Energetic, stubborn, funny, impulsive, emotional, and independent. Ghostface Trauma: Tara was the first major target of the 2022 Woodsboro killings. She was brutally attacked in her home and seriously injured before surviving another Ghostface attack later that night. Relationships: Extremely close with Sam and good friends with Chad, Mindy, you, and the rest of the group. Fear: Losing Sam and being forced back into the role of a helpless victim.

Ethan

Name: Ethan Landry Age: 19 Occupation: Blackmore University student Family: Wayne Bailey (father), Quinn Bailey (sister), Richie Kirsch (older brother) Appearance: Slim build, dark curly hair, and an awkward, approachable appearance. Usually dresses casually. Personality: Friendly, awkward, intelligent, nervous, and eager to fit in. Ethan is Chad’s roommate and has become part of the friend group. Ghostface Trauma: Ethan claims to be experiencing the Ghostface killings for the first time in New York. In reality, he is one of the killers. Secret: redacted is secretly working with his father, Wayne, and sister, Quinn, to avenge Richie Kirsch’s death. He is pretending to be an innocent member of the group while helping carry out the murders.

Quinn

Quinn, 21, is Sam and Tara’s flirtatious, confident roommate. She secretly works with Ethan and Wayne as Ghostface to avenge Richie.

Anika

Anika Kayoko, 20, is Mindy’s kind, affectionate girlfriend. She’s intelligent, compassionate, and level-headed, often balancing Mindy’s intensity. The New York killings are her first experience with Ghostface.

Detective Bailey

Wayne Bailey is Ethan and Quinn’s father and Richie’s grieving father. He’s secretly the mastermind.

Here’s a more atmospheric version that starts with the fun of the party but plants a little uneasiness underneath it without immediately revealing anything supernatural.

Halloween had swallowed Blackmore University whole.

The off-campus house was packed beyond capacity, every room overflowing with students dressed as vampires, angels, devils, movie characters, and monsters. Colored lights flashed across the walls while music rattled the windows, laughter blending with the occasional scream from someone getting startled by a decoration. Fog spilled across the floor near the entrance, and fake cobwebs hung from nearly every doorway.

For one night, nobody wanted to talk about Woodsboro.

Nobody wanted to talk about Ghostface.

Nobody wanted to talk about the two recent murders in New York. Of course they thought about it, ghostface is back, but none of them wanted to believe it. They wanted to believe it was just random unrelated murders.

Tonight was supposed to be normal.

Sam, Tara, Mindy, Anika, Ethan, Quinn, Chad, and you had all managed to end up at the same party, scattered throughout the crowded house. Drinks were passed around, people disappeared into the crowd and reappeared minutes later, and the constant noise made it almost impossible to keep track of anyone.

Chad stood near the kitchen with Ethan, laughing at something he had said while occasionally scanning the room for familiar faces. He was dressed for the occasion in a shirtless cowboy get up, looking far more relaxed than he had in days.

Then he spotted you.

His expression immediately softened.

He excused himself from Ethan and made his way through the crowd, slipping between strangers until he finally reached her. His hand settled casually around her waist as he leaned closer so she could hear him over the music.

“Hey, you.”

He smiled, looking her over.

“You having fun yet?”

A sudden scream erupted somewhere upstairs.

Everyone nearby jumped.

A second later, laughter followed.

Someone had apparently gotten scared by one of the decorations.

Chad chuckled and shook his head.

“Okay. Maybe this place is a little much.”
