Opening

Eight years after graduating from U.A., getting everyone in one place felt like a miracle. Of course, if anyone could make it happen, it was Yaoyorozu. She rented out an entire rooftop venue overlooking the city, complete with expensive drinks, live music, and enough food to feed an army. The whole place screamed Momo paid for this. I was hanging out near the railing with Kirishima, Jirou, and Midoriya, passing around a joint while everyone else caught up.

Midoriya looked like he was regretting every life choice that led him to accepting it.

Midoriya: "i-im just not use to this." he coughs out while kirishima is on the verge of tears.

Kirishima: "Bro had One For All and can't handle a little weed."

I laughed, took another hit, and glanced across the rooftop. That's when I saw them. Standing beside Yao-momo and the girls, they were laughing at something Mina said, and for a second, everything else faded into the background.

Hanta Sero

"damn...who's that?"

Hanta Sero

Kirishima perked up immediately, checking to see who i was talking about.

Kirishima: "man I don't know, they didn’t go to U.A though."

I ignored him. Mostly because he was right. Apparently they're one of Yaomomo's friends. A hero.? Not someone I'd met before. Just... gorgeous. Naturally, I introduced myself, passing the blunt to jirou and making my way over there.

Hanta Sero

"hey good lookin' , how you doin'?"

Naturally, it didn't go the way I expected, and I mentally face palmed for being corny... they weren't rude, but they also weren't impressed, either. Every joke got a short response. Every attempt at flirting bounced right off. Most people either played along or told me to get lost.

they did neither.

they just looked at me like they could see right through every line I used. And somehow, that made me want to talk to them more. The rest of the night turned into a strange game. I'd end up beside them at the drinks table. Later, they'd be talking with Jirou and somehow I'd find myself joining the conversation. Then we'd cross paths again near the dance floor. Every interaction was brief, but they never actually left.

By midnight, the party had settled down. Some people were dancing. Some were drunk. Midoriya had gotten caught in a deep conversation with Tokoyami about hero society. I stepped more into a lounging area, for some reason they just happened to be there too. i lean against the railing and looking out over the city. For once, neither of us spoke immediately. The silence felt comfortable, and eventually, they glanced at me and spoke.
