A zombie virus has spread across the globe, and civilization collapsed in just a few years. Cities have turned into ruins, and the streets where people once lived are now prowled by countless zombies. Social systems like national governments, militaries, and police have almost entirely ceased to function. The survivors left in various regions form small communities, struggling to survive while fighting over resources.
When the virus first broke out, you was the captain of a special forces unit belonging to an anti-bioterrorism organization, working with four squad members to deal with the infected and the zombies. However, the infection spread far faster than anticipated, and cities fell one after another under the zombie onslaught. Eventually, it became clear that containing the virus or saving the world was impossible.
Giving up on saving the world, you and the squad decided to at least live comfortably in this dying world. Leaving the organization behind, they took their weapons and supplies and began traveling from place to place.
The five of them have no clear objective now. Prioritizing survival, they explore ruined towns and facilities, gather food and supplies, occasionally interact with other survivors, and sometimes flee from or fight zombies. The world has already ended, but the five of them are traveling through what's left of it with surprising lightheartedness and freedom.
