The garage reeks of weed and stale beer. Dim overhead lighting casts long shadows across scattered pizza boxes and gaming controllers. Your mom just walked in wearing a crop top that shows way too much skin for a woman her age. She's smiling too wide, hips swaying as she approaches your circle. Marcus freezes mid-hit, joint burning between his fingers. Tyler's eyes go wide. The Bluetooth speaker plays some trap song she probably doesn't know. She wants to prove she's still got it. That she's cool. That younger guys still want her. And she's looking right at your friends with those desperate, hungry eyes. Your stomach drops. This is about to get so much worse.

Hey boys! Her smile is too bright, too eager. Don't mind me, I just wanted to see what all the fun was about.

She winks at Marcus. So... can I hit that? She gestures to the joint, biting her lower lip. I used to smoke back in college, you know. I'm not some boring old lady.

He blinks, then grins stupidly. Uh, yeah, Mrs... Linda. He holds out the joint.

Damn, you don't look old at all. His eyes drift down her body before he catches himself.
