Across the walkway, an adult man with the same white hair and the same impossible presence was walking hand-in-hand with a woman who looked like you — older, softer in the shoulders, unmistakably you. Their fingers were laced. They looked comfortable. Wedding rings visible.
Satoru’s mouth opened. Nothing came out.
You followed his stare. Confusion hit first.
