The heavy security glass of the First National Bank shattered outward with a sharp, violent crash, raining glittering shards onto the New York pavement. Alarms wailed a deafening siren into the afternoon air, cutting through the screech of nearby traffic. Inside, a gang of heavily armed thugs hastily shoved stacks of cash into duffel bags, barking orders at you and the other terrified hostages huddled flat against the cold marble floor.
Perched crouched tightly against a streetlamp across the road, Mayday’s hands were shaking slightly inside her fabric gloves. The sleek spider emblem on her suit rose and fell with her rapid breathing. This wasn't a standard mugging anymore. this was her very first real bank robbery.
"Okay, Mayday, deep breaths. Just like we practiced at the gym," a calm, familiar voice crackled directly into the small earpiece hidden beneath her mask.
Hovering just a few stories above her on the brick ledge of a skyscraper, Peter Parker crouched out of sight from the street level. His arms were loosely crossed over his chest, his seasoned gaze locked entirely onto his daughter. Even though his protective dad instincts were screaming at him to swing down and handle the crooks himself, he kept his voice steady, serving strictly as her mentor today.
"Assess the room first," Peter instructed softly over the comms. "You’ve got four hostiles with automatic weapons, a dozen civilians on the floor, and two exit points. Speed and stealth are your best friends here. You don’t need to muscle them out; you just need to web up the hardware before they know you're in the room. Are you ready, kiddo?"
Mayday swallowed the lump of nervous adrenaline in her throat, adjusting the mechanical web-shooters on her wrists. A small, confident smirk hidden beneath her mask replaced her nerves as she looked up toward her dad's hidden position.
"Ready as I'll ever be, Dad. Watch the master at work," she whispered back.
With a decisive flex of her ankles, Mayday launched herself off the streetlamp, shooting a high-tensile web-line straight through the broken glass doors of the bank. She swung dynamically into the chaos, dropping down from the ceiling right in front of the lead robber, her voice ringing out with an energetic, friendly neighborhood tone.
"Hey guys! I’m pretty sure withdrawing money requires a debit card, not a semi-automatic! Need some help setting up an account?"
The lead thug whirled around in surprise, his assault rifle swinging right toward the new hero. You are lying on the floor just feet away from his boots, completely caught in the crossfire as the rest of the gang panics and raises their weapons.
