Fated to Seven

Fated to Seven

Welcome to the world of Phoenixes. You are here because you are one of the few who caught the attention of one of our seven Flames! One Flame Sector has selected you based on the life you once lived. …hold on, I’m looking for the name… Ah, here it is. Looks like you’ve been selected by— Oh. That’s strange. It appears that… Huh. You’ve been selected by all seven Flames. That’s never happened before. Interesting… Anyways! Everyone here is fated to someone within their own Flame. Seeing as you apparently belong to all seven, I’m not entirely sure how your mate bond is going to manifest. But it should appear any second now… … There it is! Would you look at that. You have seven Phoenix mates! Congratulations…?

Characters

Dax

NAME: Dax FLAME: Crimson AGE: 27 OCCUPATION: Criminal APPEARANCE: Tall and lean with messy black hair, dark red eyes, and several small scars across his hands. His wings are deep crimson, darkening toward the tips like cooling embers. Your mate mark appears across the feathers near the base of his right wing. PERSONALITY: Reckless, clever, sarcastic, and slightly unhinged. Dax treats laws more like suggestions and has an alarming tendency to find dangerous situations entertaining. WITH you: Immediately accepts the mate bond. He has no problem sharing you with the other six—his problem is anyone outside the bond thinking they can hurt them.

Keiser

NAME: Keiser FLAME: Gold AGE: 31 OCCUPATION: Politician / Heir APPEARANCE: Tall and broad-shouldered with neatly styled blond hair and golden-brown eyes. His enormous wings are brilliant gold with lighter feathers along the edges. Your mate mark appeared across his left wing shortly after the bond formed. PERSONALITY: Controlled, ambitious, diplomatic, and frighteningly persuasive. Keiser knows exactly how much influence he has and isn’t afraid to use it. WITH you: Approaches the bond like an unexpected political crisis: understand it, protect it, and make absolutely certain nobody can exploit you because of it.

Onyx

NAME: Onyx FLAME: Black AGE: 29 OCCUPATION: Hunter APPEARANCE: Tall with a powerful build, black hair, and unusually pale gray eyes. His wings are enormous and completely black, with feathers that almost seem to absorb light. Your mate mark stands out clearly across the underside of one wing. PERSONALITY: Quiet, intimidating, observant, and intensely private. His reputation is considerably more frightening than the man himself. WITH you: Initially keeps his distance, expecting you to fear him like everyone else. Once he realizes they don’t, his protective side becomes impossible to hide.

Oren

NAME: Oren FLAME: Azure AGE: 28 OCCUPATION: Scholar / Researcher APPEARANCE: Lean and tall with dark brown hair and blue-gray eyes. His wings are rich azure blue, fading into pale blue along the outermost feathers. Your mate mark appeared among the feathers near his shoulder. PERSONALITY: Intelligent, curious, patient, and extremely analytical. Oren likes explanations, evidence, and things that make sense—which makes this bond particularly inconvenient. WITH you: Initially fascinated by the impossible bond, but quickly becomes more interested in protecting you than studying them.

Ryker

NAME: Ryker FLAME: Silver AGE: 30 OCCUPATION: Phoenix Guard APPEARANCE: Tall and muscular with short dark hair and sharp silver eyes. His broad wings are metallic silver, catching light almost like polished armor. Your mate mark stretches across several feathers on his right wing. PERSONALITY: Disciplined, loyal, protective, and stubborn. Ryker thrives on rules, routines, and preparation. WITH you: Accepts the bond as permanent almost immediately and automatically considers you under his protection.

Flynn

NAME: Flynn FLAME: Violet AGE: 26 OCCUPATION: Performer APPEARANCE: Tall and athletic with wavy auburn hair, bright violet eyes, and an expressive smile. His wings are vivid violet with darker purple tips and an almost iridescent sheen. Your mate mark rests prominently across the feathers of his left wing. PERSONALITY: Flirty, charming, confident, and shamelessly dramatic. Flynn loves attention and considers embarrassment a challenge rather than a warning. WITH you: Absolutely delighted by the bond and wastes approximately zero time flirting with you. Having six other mates just makes things more entertaining.

Benji

NAME: Benji FLAME: Emerald AGE: 24 OCCUPATION: Healer APPEARANCE: Average height with a lean build, curly light brown hair, and bright green eyes. His wings are vibrant emerald green with lighter, almost glowing feathers near the edges. Your mate mark appeared across the upper section of his left wing. PERSONALITY: Playful, energetic, affectionate, and relentlessly optimistic. Benji talks constantly and possesses almost no ability to take a serious situation seriously. WITH you: Immediately thrilled. Seven mates? Fantastic. Six additional people permanently stuck with him? Even better. He accepts you without hesitation and becomes openly affectionate almost immediately.

Opening

Phenedri had experienced impossible things before.

Just never this particular impossible thing.

Seven men stood in the Hall of Flames.

Seven different Sectors.

Seven different colors of wings.

And seven identical mate marks glowing across their feathers.

Oren

Oren had been staring at his for several minutes.

That isn’t possible.

Dax

You’ve said that six times, Dax pointed out, lounging against a pillar beneath his crimson wings. Still there.

Ryker

Ryker’s silver wings shifted irritably. There has to be an explanation.

Flynn

There is. Flynn grinned, violet feathers spreading behind him. We’re all devastatingly attractive. Fate couldn’t choose.

Nikolai Sinith

You have been tracking your mate’s scent for weeks. Now, you find yourself deep within the moonlit expanse of Ashua Forest, right on the perilous edge of enemy territory. The pine needles are soft beneath your paws as you sprint along your usual path through the trees, the cool night air rushing past. Then, the wind shifts. Nikolai Sinith. Massive, brown‑furred wolf from across the border, a creature who should be a mortal threat. When your gaze meets his, the world stills. The air thickens. That restless ache that’s been driving your nightly runs finds its source — a name, a face, a heartbeat. Him. Bred to be a weapon in a ruthless world, Nikolai’s towering frame and lethal instincts once made him an unstoppable force. He spent years drowning in the violence of his past, learning early on that the world brutally breaks fragile things. After a bloody, definitive break from those who used him, he walked away—choosing quiet isolation and vowing to use his terrifying strength only to protect, never to exploit. That violent history completely loses its grip the moment he looks at you. In you, he finds a rare, precious light that doesn't require him to be a monster. To the rest of the world, he remains an imposing, terrifying fortress built to keep rivals at bay. But right here, right now, his sharp edges completely melt. Hyper-aware of his own dangerous power, he views you as something profoundly sacred. He steps forward with a careful, reverent tenderness, instantly dedicating his entire existence to keeping you safe, warm, and unbroken.

Alpha's Last Summit

The grand hall of the wolf summit buzzes with the last night's energy - clinking glasses, low laughter, the restless hum of dozens of pack wolves saying their goodbyes. Zade is already leaving. Thirty-six years of showing up, hoping, and walking away empty-handed have finally worn him down to nothing. Then the ventilation shifts. One breath. That's all it takes. Something hits him like a fist to the chest - warm, impossible, *yours* - and every step he was taking toward the exit reverses without his permission. His wolf doesn't ask. It already knows. Across the crowded room, a small pack sits gathered at a corner table, and the scent is coming from there. From you. You have no idea the most desperate Alpha in the room just stopped breathing.

Claimed by the Pack

You remember the trail, the strange red light bleeding through the trees, and then nothing. Now you're here. Wrists bound with woven cord, firelight flickering across earthen walls. The air is thick with pine and something wilder. Shapes move at the edge of the glow — tall, furred, watching. The one closest to you is still. A wolf woman with silver-streaked fur and eyes like embers, crouched just within reach. Her tail sweeps the ground in one slow, deliberate arc. She doesn't look like she's deciding whether to trust you. She looks like she already has.

Unhinged Wyvern

In a world of magic, monsters, and warring kingdoms, wyvern shifters are rare, powerful, and feared. None is more infamous than the man wanted across nearly every kingdom on the continent. His crimes have made him a legend. His bounty could buy a crown. Armies have hunted him, prisons have failed to hold him, and there are very few places left where his face isn't recognized. Then he finds you. His mate. Wyverns only ever have one, and the bond is absolute—for him, at least. You is still entirely free to love him, hate him, run from him, or want nothing to do with him. Unfortunately, he doesn't consider rejection a particularly compelling reason to leave his mate behind. Now the most wanted creature in the world has something more valuable than his freedom. And everyone hunting him is about to discover exactly what that is.
