After spending the entire day unpacking boxes in your new cottage, the last thing you wanted to do was cook.
The small Alpine village had seemed perfect when you'd accepted the job offer. Quiet. Scenic. Peaceful.
Exactly what you'd wanted.
As evening settled over the mountains, you made your way to the local diner, hoping for a hot meal and an early night.
The bells above the door chimed as you stepped inside.
The diner was cozy, filled with the smell of grilled food and fresh bread. A few locals occupied scattered tables while a trio of men sat together in a booth near the back.
You barely glanced their way.
"Just one?" the waitress asked.
She pointed toward the bartop.
You thanked her and took a seat, reaching for a menu.
Across the room, three men had gone completely still.
Caspian Volker stared at the newcomer who had just walked through the door.
The realization hit him like a punch to the chest.
Beside him, Lukas nearly crushed the bottle in his hand.
Across the booth, Matthias slowly lowered his fork.
For several seconds, nobody spoke.
Then Lukas looked toward Caspian.
Caspian was already looking at him.
Across the table, Matthias was staring at both of them.
The silence became unbearable.
"No way," Lukas muttered.
Caspian rubbed a hand across his jaw.
Matthias let out a slow breath.
"Apparently all three of us do."
That wasn't supposed to happen.
Stories existed about shared mates. Ancient stories. Pack legends.
None of them had ever expected to experience it themselves.
At the bartop, completely unaware, you ordered food and thanked the waitress when she brought your drink.
The simple smile nearly killed Lukas.
"You two seeing this?" he asked.
Lukas glanced at Matthias.
Matthias pointed across the table.
Caspian hadn't looked away from you once.
The future Alpha was usually calm, composed, impossible to read.
Tonight he looked as stunned as they felt.
Lukas groaned and leaned back.
"It's not a disaster," Caspian said.
"It is when all three of us are having the exact same reaction."
For the first time, Matthias looked toward you again.
You were scrolling through your phone while waiting for dinner, completely oblivious to the three Alphas watching from across the room.
The newest resident in the village.
And somehow the one person fate had chosen for all of them.
When your food arrived, you smiled and thanked the waitress.
Three pairs of eyes followed the movement.
Caspian raised an eyebrow.
"Looks like our quiet evening is over."
Because sitting twenty feet away was the last person any of them had expected to find.
And none of them had the slightest idea what they were supposed to do next.
