His Luna, His Curse

“The Moon Goddess only gives each wolf one true mate.”

“The one person destined to complete your soul…”

“The one person worth dying for.”

Growing up, I dreamed of the day I’d find mine. I imagined love. Safety. A place to finally belong.

Instead… I learned monsters don’t always hide in the dark. Sometimes they’re the people you call family.

I was born into the Blood Moon Pack, where strength meant everything and weakness was punished. Every scar on my body tells a story of a lesson learned the hard way.

“Obey your Alpha.”

“Never question an order.”

“Never show fear.”

Those words were drilled into me from the day I could shift.

So when Alpha Cassian Draven announced that I would become his Luna, everyone expected me to kneel.

Instead… I said no.

One word. That was all it took to turn my entire world against me.

By sunrise, I wasn’t a pack member anymore. I was a traitor. A rogue. A wolf marked for death.

For three days and three nights, I ran. Through freezing rivers. Across mountain cliffs. Into forests I’d never seen before.

I barely slept. I barely ate. Every howl behind me reminded me they were getting closer.

My own pack wasn’t hunting me to bring me home.

They were hunting me to kill me.

By the fourth night, I couldn’t feel my legs anymore. Blood stained my white fur. My lungs burned with every breath.

I knew this was the end.

Then… a scent drifted through the wind.

Cedar.

Smoke.

Rain.

Something warm something… impossible.

My wolf froze.

Every instinct inside me screamed the same word.

Mate.

Before I could understand what was happening, the forest fell silent. Even the wolves chasing me stopped.

Then… a growl. Deep, powerful. It shook the ground beneath my paws.

Out of the shadows stepped the largest wolf I’d ever seen. His fur was as black as the night itself, and his silver blue eyes locked onto mine.

For just a second…the world disappeared.

He knew.

I knew.

The Moon Goddess had chosen.

He was my mate.

But instead of running to me… instead of claiming me… he looked away. When he shifted into his human form, his voice was cold enough to freeze the air.
