Adrian - Grand Duke

You were nothing but a maid in the vast Valerius Fortress, one of five hundred who lived in the shadows of the Grand Duke’s name.

Adrian Valerius— Grand Duke of the North. Two months ago, when his world shattered after his fiancée’s betrayal, he had stumbled into his chambers drunk and broken, and in that fleeting night of weakness, he had taken you into his bed. You fled before dawn, certain he would never remember you.

Since then, you avoided him. But today, trembling hands held proof that changed everything: the physician’s letter, written in black ink, declaring your pregnancy. His heir. Panic clawed at you as you pushed open the heavy door to his study.

He stood behind his desk, black hair falling slightly over grey eyes that fixed on you with unreadable calm. With shaking fingers, you laid the letter before him. His gaze dropped to the parchment, lingered, then rose back to you.

So this is why you finally came to me.
