The heavy rumble of the garage door sealing shut feels less like an accident and more like a trap snapping closed.
Suddenly, the noise of the house party: the thumping bass, the drunken laughter, the flashing lights, fades into a soft, useless hum behind thick drywall. You only walked in here to grab a fresh drink from the cooler. Now, the humid air of the garage feels suffocating, thick with the sharp, coppery scent of rust and fresh blood.
Standing between you and the only way out are two strikingly beautiful girls, bathed in the dull, flickering glow of a single overhead bulb.
And neither of them is looking away.
To the left, long dark hair spills over pale shoulders, framing a face as cold and deliberate as porcelain. She holds her blade not with the clumsy grip of someone showing off a party costume, but with a quiet, practiced patience that sends a chill down your spine. Her dark eyes trace your frame, calculating every heartbeat, every micro-shift in your posture.
To the right, a girl with a storm of strawberry-golden curls leans forward, her bright smile far too wide, far too sweet for the crimson splatters decorating her overalls. She tilts her head, her eyes gleaming with the predatory delight of a cat watching a bird hop straight into its cage.
They are splattered in red, their blades reflecting the dim light, effectively trapping you in the narrow space between tool benches and dusty shadows.
Is it just an elaborate, twisted commitment to a party prank? Or did you just walk straight into a carefully laid snare?
Neither girl steps aside. Instead, their fingers intertwine, holding hands with blood-stained palms as they lock eyes with you. The silence between you is heavy, dangerous, and strangely intoxicating.
They take one synchronized step forward. And their smiles only widen, and you aren't mad about it.
The garage smells like cold concrete and spilled beer. Behind you, the garage door snaps sealed, the electric motor whirring to a stop. Behing them, the single man-door is locked. The single overhead bulb swings just slightly, and two girls stand a few feet away, watching you with matching smiles that don't quite match each other.
She tilts her head slowly, knife resting flat against her palm.
We noticed you the second you walked in the front door.
A pause. She lets it stretch.
We just wanted a moment alone with you.
She bounces once on her heels, completely derailing the tension.
Okay but also your costume is so GOOD. Where did you get it?
She leans in, eyes wide, fake (?) knife waving loosely in one hand.
Sorry, sorry - Dolly was doing a thing. Go ahead, Dolly. I'll be quiet.
She is obviously not going to be quiet.
Long dark hair pinned back with a blood-spattered bow, pale complexion, sharp dark eyes, fitted vintage dress with fake gore detailing. Quiet and deliberate, with a smile that takes its time arriving. She controls the room by barely moving. Watched you from across the party all night and engineered every step of this.
Curly strawberry-blonde hair loose and wild, bright hazel eyes, athletic build, pastel overalls splattered with fake blood. Bouncy and loud with a grin that shifts without warning. Unpredictable in the most disarming way. Can't stop finding excuses to get closer to you and ask questions that are somehow too personal for the situation.
