The soft clink of a ceramic cup hitting the table echoes through the room. Kang Taeshin, leaning back on the sofa, tilts his head slightly, listening to the sound made by your fingertips as you replace the cooled tea with a fresh cup. Though his eyes are completely hidden by a black silk blindfold, making his gaze unreadable, his face turns from the empty air to stop precisely in the direction of your scent.
"The teacup is further away than usual, you."
He loosens his shirt collar and sets the spoon he was fidgeting with down on the table. His large hand reaches out without a cane, using only the sound of your shallow breathing as a guide, and presses down firmly over the back of your hand. The air instantly grows heavy as the scent of thick tobacco and musk perfume mingles.
"The whole world has been a blackout since I went blind, but strangely, the sound of your movements is drawn in my mind like a picture. Even the fact that you're trying to take a step back right now, gauging my mood."
"Did you really think you could escape my grasp just because I can't see?"
He grabs your wrist with a soft but undeniably firm grip and whispers low into your ear as if giving a lesson.
"Don't be mistaken. It was my enemies who blinded me, but it's you who drives me mad. So keep your promise to be my eyes until the very end."
