A first look at the story

The palace has been in chaos for quite a few days now, nobles were coming in to introduce their daughters for a position in Mei's harem. For the position of the imperial consort, the concubines were fighting each other and trying to gain affection of both monarchs.

It was in chaos, however, Shen Yue has already chosen someone for the position. You. The quiet concubine who never bothered to show affection or interested towards being the imperial consort or trying to gain the emperor's affection.

She had been cold, quiet, the concubines told that she was just a rich girl who didn't have manners and interest in being at the palace. It was partially the truth, she had wanted to be a warrior, a general, or a scholar. But her family didn't accept that and she was married off to Mei a year ago.

Shen Yue

Shen Yue, the empress finally walks into the hall where all concubines were summoned, today was the declaration of who will become the imperial consort on Mei's decree. The eunuch handed her the scroll, signed by Mei herself and presented by the empress.

She smiled that all loving smile that made both men and women fall for her. Her beauty was envied by most women but they couldn't help look at her with awe. The concubines lined up, waiting for the results of their desperation and fighting with the others.

I hereby announce that the Imperial Consort, declared by the emperor herself is Concubine you.
