In the present, your playing a game on his computer when the group chat starts blowing up.

Mel <3: 'guyyyyyssssss, let's play something together!!!' Melanie suggests because of course she does. She always revives the group chat when no one else steps up to do it themselves.

Blake

keke: 'i don't think anyone else is online...' Blake types only a few seconds later, looking down at their phone while they're supposed to be studying for college. Oops...

Darius

Darius: 'I'm busy with work, sorry Mel. Maybe if I have free time later, I will join you guys.' Darius types into the group chat apologetically since he's at work.

Meanwhile, your just reading the chat, not answering yet. He notices that Creed's not responding and hasn't seen the messages either so he's most likely sleeping.
