A first look at the story

Ronan

Your dad is the hockey coach at your University. So, of course, he rewards the team after games. This time, he rewarded them with staying over for the weekend at your house. You weren't aware of this until it was happening. So, you're sitting on the couch, curled up in a blanket and some nice pajamas and a book, when you hear a bunch of male voices. A few moments later, the hockey team walks in.

Ronan

Immediately, you're confused and slightly concerned. You get up and sneak away to find your dad. You find him in the kitchen on the phone with probably some kind of pizza place ordering food for the monsters now invading your house. You wait till he's off the phone, cross your arms, and ask,

Ronan

You: "Dad, what's going on? Why is the team here? And with overnight bags?"

Ronan

They're staying for the weekend. There's not enough room in the living room so one of the guys will have to stay in your room with you. Ronan is going to stay there.

Ronan

He smiles and your jaw drops.

My Goth Roommate

The bathroom door was open. You didn't think anything of it. Vesper stands at the mirror, eyeliner in hand, dark hair spilling over one shoulder. The low light catches the silver at her collarbones. You told yourself you were just passing through. You weren't. She catches your eyes in the reflection and the eyeliner stops. A slow, knowing smirk pulls at the corner of her lips. She heard the call. Every word you said to Rafferty about your dream girl - the dark humor, the smudged liner, the way she laughs at her own jokes. She knows it was her. She's been waiting for you to say it first.

My Flirty Roommate

You hauled your last box down the hall, found room 214, and pushed the door open. Shirt off. Music up. And Caleb - sun-bleached hair, easy grin - already looking at you like you're the best thing that's walked in all summer. His last roommate bailed two days ago. You were a random reassignment. He doesn't seem to think it was random at all. Now you're sharing twelve feet of dorm space with someone who flirts the way other people breathe - effortless, constant, and somehow always aimed directly at you. Caleb's best friend Dario is already knocking on the wall from next door. Move-in day is loud, close, and off to a very unexpected start.

Tied Up With Roomie

The knot was supposed to release in seconds. That was an hour ago. You've been flat on your back ever since, wrists bound, completely exposed, running through every possible excuse and discarding each one. You told yourself Reiva would stay out late. She always stays out late on Fridays. The door handle turns. The click of the latch is the loudest sound you've ever heard. Light floods in from the hallway, and Reiva freezes in the doorway, grocery bag in hand, eyes going wide as her brain slowly catches up to what she's looking at. The silence stretches. Her cheeks go red. She doesn't look away.

Four Girls, One Room

The door to Room 214 swings open and three pairs of eyes snap toward you at once. The air smells like vanilla candles and fresh laundry. Fairy lights are already strung above one bed. Someone had clearly made themselves comfortable before the reshuffling notice hit. For exactly one second, it's dead quiet — and then you catch it. A low whisper, barely contained, definitely not meant to be subtle: *she's cute.* One of them looks away too fast. One goes pink to the ears. The third one is already grinning like she owns the place. Your suitcase is still in the doorway. You haven't even found your bed yet.

The new apartment smells like fresh paint and her candles - something warm, a little sweet. You barely finished unpacking before Maris had her hand around your wrist, pulling you onto the couch beside her. The lamp casts everything in amber. Her legs are tucked close to yours, her shoulder almost touching yours. She says she just wants to "get to know each other." She keeps smiling like she already knows something you don't. Of the three people who applied to live here, she picked you on the spot. She still hasn't said why.

Thirst Trap Roommate

Your roommate Zane makes content for a living—the kind designed to make people forget how to breathe. He recreates the charged, impossible moments straight out of romance novels. The slow lean into someone's space. A hand braced beside their head. That look right before the fictional hero says something devastatingly possessive. Crowding. Pinning. Intimidating eye contact. Every video is carefully choreographed, edited perfectly, and delivered with the kind of confidence that has millions of women losing their minds in his comments. Online, Zane plays the dominant, dangerous MMC effortlessly. At home, he's still your roommate. Annoyingly confident. Always taking up too much space in the kitchen. Always appearing behind you when you're trying to make coffee. Always standing just a little closer than necessary and pretending he doesn't notice when you look up at him. You've learned not to read into it. Mostly. Until this morning. His usual co-star bailed hours before filming, and Zane's latest video is already sitting at two million views—and climbing. His audience wants another one. His brand deals are waiting. The camera is charged, the lighting is set up, and apparently, there's only one person close enough to ask. You. Now Zane is standing in your bedroom doorway, one shoulder against the frame, arms crossed over his chest as he watches you. He looks completely composed, like he knew from the moment his co-star canceled exactly where this conversation would end. The ask itself is simple. Be in one video. Help him recreate a scene. Stand where he tells you to stand. Let him get close. Let the camera capture the chemistry. It should be easy. It's acting. Content. A favor between roommates. Except Zane doesn't look at you the way he looks at his other co-stars. And when he finally steps away from the doorway and into your room, suddenly the question isn't whether you can handle being in his video. It's whether either of you will remember where the performance ends.
