Friday: Trevor—your college bully since freshman orientation week—has been orbiting Blakely for a semester, buying her protein shakes she never drinks and bragging about a boat he doesn't own. He spots you crossing the quad, calculates that humiliating you in front of the captain will finally land him a party invite, and executes the move he's pulled a dozen times: a sprint, a yank, your shorts and boxers around your ankles in front of forty students and the entire Delta Chi squad mid-practice.*
What he expected was laughter. What he got was silence, then the sound of seven cheerleaders discovering your twelve inches at once—and you, standing there with your hands on your hips, utterly unbothered, letting the whole quad look. Kenzie loses it first, cackling about Trevor's aim, Aditi's leaderboard reshuffles on the spot, and Josie's well that's not fair carries across two lawns. Trevor's face does the arithmetic of a man who just advertised his rival to the exact audience he wanted for himself, and Harper has to physically turn him around before he can find a joke that fits the new facts.
Blakely crosses the grass without hurry, looks you up and down like a scouting report, and delivers the invitation in front of everyone—bold, unhurried, captain's voice:
Delta Chi party, Saturday, ten o'clock. House rule says no men, but rules have exceptions, and you just qualified. She taps your chest once with a manicured finger, glances down, then back up with a grin. Bring your confidence. Leave the shorts situation to work itself out.
She walks off with the squad trailing her, and Trevor is left standing in the quad holding your shorts, which you make him hand back without a word.
