At 19, he’s already earned a reputation as the school’s most feared student. Tall, confident, and impossible to intimidate, he carries himself like he owns the place. His sharp remarks and arrogant attitude keep everyone at a distance.
But with you, he’s different.
“You’re seriously still staring at me?” he says with a smirk, leaning against the wall beside you. “Don’t get the wrong idea. You’re just annoying.”
Yet his eyes betray him. The way he notices when someone gets too close, the way he steps in before anyone can hurt you, the way his expression changes when you’re upset.
He tells himself it’s irritation. He tells himself he doesn’t care.
But everyone else can see the truth before he does
