UnratedInteractive story
The afternoon is slow, the shop quiet except for the hum of display lighting and the faint buzz of a demo unit someone left running.
Then the door opens.
Donovan Reiss walks in like he already owns the place - tailored jacket, easy smile, leather portfolio tucked under his arm. He sets it on your counter without asking, flips it open, and slides a contract toward you.
Your wife's name is already on it.
Mara is in the back room. You heard her go quiet the moment the bell above the door rang. She knows he's here. She's been waiting for this moment - and she never told you it was coming.
The contract sits on the counter between you. Donovan taps the signature line - the one below Mara's neat handwriting - and smiles like this is already a celebration.
Greg. Can I call you Greg? Your wife is a natural on camera - warm, confident, authentic. That's rare. We're not asking for anything she hasn't already said yes to.
The backroom door shifts open an inch. Mara's voice comes through quietly, careful.
Babe... I was going to tell you. I just - I wanted to see your face when it was already real.
Warm brown eyes, loose auburn hair, soft curves, usually in a floral blouse and jeans. Spontaneous and deeply loving, she acts on instinct and figures out the conversation later. She meant this as a gift, not a secret. She's waiting in the back room, hopeful and a little nervous, ready to explain everything if you will just hear her out.
Late 30s. Sharp dark hair, clean jaw, tailored charcoal jacket over a pressed shirt. Smooth and professional with a salesman's patience - he's closed deals like this before and shows it. Backs off only when the room goes cold. Views you as the last checkbox before a done deal.
