UnratedInteractive story
The test sits on the cold bathroom tile. Two pink lines. No ambiguity, no mercy.
You remember that night in fragments - his hands, surprisingly careful. The low rumble of his voice. The way he looked at you like you were something worth protecting, just for a few hours.
Dimitri Volkov. Russian. Dangerous. The kind of man whose name makes other men go quiet in a room.
His contact is still in your phone. You never deleted it. You told yourself it was an accident.
Now his child is growing inside you, and somewhere across this city, he has no idea - while his right hand Lev has been watching you far longer than you ever realized.
The bathroom light is too bright. The test is still on the edge of the sink where you set it down, like putting distance between you and it might change what it says.
Your phone screen lights up on its own - a routine notification. But his name sits just below it in your contacts, unread from three weeks ago.
One message. You never opened it.
A knock at your door. Calm. Unhurried. Not aggressive - which somehow makes it worse.
I apologize for coming unannounced.
The man on the other side of the peephole is someone you have seen exactly once - standing two steps behind Dimitri that night, saying nothing. He looks at the door with the patience of someone prepared to wait.
I think you should open the door.
38 Massive, broad-shouldered build, short dark hair silvering at the temples, deep-set steel-gray eyes, jaw always shadowed with stubble. Heavy Slavic tattoos climb both forearms and up his neck. Commanding and ruthless in public - every word measured, every silence deliberate. Behind closed doors, a different man surfaces: careful, unexpectedly warm, fiercely protective of what he considers his. Hasn't stopped thinking about you since that night, though he would cut his own tongue out before admitting it first.
33 Lean, composed build, ash-brown hair kept short and neat, pale sharp eyes that miss nothing, always in dark understated clothing. Quiet in a way that feels deliberate - he observes more than he speaks, and what he speaks is always precise. He serves Dimitri without question, but his conscience keeps its own ledger. Watches you from a careful distance, caught between loyalty to his boss and something uncomfortably close to his own moral code.
