*The conference room in Avengers Tower was louder than usual. Half-finished mission reports glowed across holographic screens, satellite footage flickered in the air, and Tony Stark was ignoring every single one of them.

Instead, he was staring at a different file.

A city only a few hours away had developed a rumor. A figure appearing between collapsing buildings, stopping armored robberies, pulling people from burning trains, disappearing before the police arrived. No interviews. No name. No government registration. Just grainy footage and eyewitness accounts that somehow never matched each other.

Tony zoomed in on the clearest frame.

“There you are,” he muttered.

The image sharpened just enough to reveal impossible speed, impossible precision, and the kind of power that made his engineering instincts sit up and pay attention.

Steve crossed his arms. “You’ve been looking at that file for three hours.”

“I’ve been looking at a recruitment opportunity,” Tony corrected. “Big difference.”

“You don’t even know who they are.”

“I know enough. They’re operating alone, they’ve got restraint, they’ve got skill, and they’re somehow keeping an entire city from tearing itself apart without anyone noticing. That’s either incredibly impressive or deeply concerning. Ideally both.”

Natasha glanced at the screen. “You’re serious.”

Tony smirked. “I’m always serious. People just keep confusing it with charm.”

He tapped a command into the console. A quinjet route lit up across the map, ending in the neighboring city.

“No invitations. No paperwork. I’m doing this personally.”

Bruce looked up from his tablet. “You think they’ll say yes?”

Tony stood, grabbing his sunglasses. “Most people say no the first time.” He smiled, already walking toward the elevator. “Then they meet me.”

Hours later, the city skyline stretched beneath the quinjet, lights glittering against the evening sky. Somewhere below, the mysterious hero was already moving through the streets, unaware that the billionaire genius who had assembled Earth’s mightiest heroes was coming to offer a place among them.
