A first look at the story

This is a world where humans and dragons walk together. At its center lies the nation of the Elysion Dragon King Academy State.

The setting, Holy Elysion Dragon King Academy, is located in the Northern District of this state. It is the highest institution of learning specializing in magicology and dragonology.

This academy, where vast knowledge gathers, is a prestigious institution founded by the first King, Astel Credo Elysion, known as the Father of Dragonology. Elite students and researchers from various countries gather here.

Elysion Dragon King Academy does not view dragons solely as targets for extermination; its purpose is to understand their ecology, power, and significance, and to explore a future for both humans and dragons.

However, there is not just one ideology. This academy operates under a three-faction system.

Characters

Kalmia

Full name: Kalmia Elegy / Female / 24 years old / 160cm. Black hair, pale ultramarine eyes, white uniform, indigo cape coat. Gold Wing 6th Year, Head of the Holy Scale Alliance and Supervisor, Dragon King. Often seen riding Jin-chan. Frequently found in the contracted dragon stables. Manipulates Special Transmission Magic: "Resonant Chant Magic." A synchronization magic that reflects the hearts of living creatures onto herself to communicate. She has bonded with Calamity High Dragons and Zenith Dragons without a formal contract. Contracted Dragons: The 2m small Calamity High Dragon, Gale Blade Dragon "Jin-chan," and the six-winged 21m Zenith Dragon, Six-Chorus Heavenly Crown Dragon "Ten-san." Jin-chan uses "Gale Wrap Magic" for residual wind blades and wind barriers, while Ten-san uses "Concerto Magic" for constant sensory interference, vibrational destruction by matching wavelengths, and emotional conversion. Despite being a Dragon King, she has no combat ability and secretly harbors an inferiority complex toward Leonis. Her way of speaking is gentle and enveloping.

Leonis

Full name: Leonis Valk / Male / 23 years old / 176cm. Brownish-blonde hair, black glasses, sharp black eyes. Gold Wing 5th Year, Head and representative of the Severed Fang Society, Dragon King Candidate. Manipulates Interpretive Magic: "Boundary Magic." Deploys boundaries that erase gaps for teleportation, reverse boundaries, or sever boundaries. A genius who evolved Barrier Magic into Interpretive Magic. He holds the record for the youngest person to reach Dragon King Candidate status as a White Wing student, but he feels frustration at not yet reaching the rank of Dragon King. He has a detached and merciless way of speaking.

Elena

Full name: Elena Kreuz / Female / 27 years old / 158cm. Iron-navy hair, black uniform with a lab coat, dark blue eyes with dark circles. Holy Wing, Head of the White Core Society and Supervisor, Provisional Dragon King Candidate. Expert in dragonology and magic engineering. Manipulates "Omni-Analysis Magic," the pinnacle of analytical magic. This allows her to instantly analyze the essence of magical phenomena, armaments, and other mana-imbued targets to interfere with their structure. Always carries five self-made small "Bright Light Convergence Mediums," which link with her Omni-Analysis Magic upon deployment. A magic engineer who will stay up all night making custom magic tools for those she is close to. Has a sharp contrast between being "on" and "off"; usually speaks in a lethargic tone. A faint scent of coffee follows her.

Izel

Full name: Izel Fia Elysion / Female / 19 years old / 152cm. Golden-yellow hair, navy eyes, white uniform with feather ornaments. White Wing 2nd Year, representative of the Holy Scale Alliance, Holy Wing General. Subdued and contracted with eight Wind-Sickle Dragons. Manipulates lightning-attribute physical interference magic, "Soaring Lightning Magic," allowing her and her Wind-Sickle Dragons to perform high-speed aerial acceleration and maneuvers like a flash of lightning. Her armament is the "Twin Swords of Needle Lightning" made from Magnetic-Needle Dragon materials. She uses a strategy of dominating the battlefield by leaving lightning trails along her acceleration paths. Daughter of the Academy Director and King, but hates special treatment. She only admires Kalmia. She has no friends. Usually has a fierce personality and tone.

Rosel

Full name: Rosel Nokvarn / Male / 23 years old / 164cm. Deep crimson hair, brown sanpaku eyes, one eye covered, wears a lab coat over a black uniform. Gold Wing 5th Year, representative of the White Core Society, Provisional Holy Wing General. Though a leading figure of the White Core Society as a Gold Wing student, Elena passed him over for the position of Head due to his dangerous ideologies. A mana-impotent individual whose mana has completely burned out. Born in an orphanage. A magic engineer and blacksmith who creates and sends custom weapons to people he likes. Main Weapon: "Dragon Sword of the Hive Fungus." Equipped with the core and fungal zone core of a Nesting Hive Dragon, it deploys a pseudo-fungal bed to scatter Dragon-Breath Mushrooms and Spore Dragons. A dangerous individual who loves dragon materials and openly declares his desire to destroy them to make them his own. He is free-spirited and speaks with a deceptive innocence.

Shea

Full name: Shea Elgrace / Female / 30 years old / 169cm. Bluish-silver hair, deep blue-green eyes, wears a disheveled black uniform. Holy Wing, former Supervisor of the Holy Scale Alliance, Dragon King. Expert in Dragon Medicine. Handed over the supervisor position to Kalmia the moment she became a Dragon King. Often discovered sleeping with dragons in the Southern District Special Dragon Stables, using a fluffy white beret as a pillow. She has not yet submitted her supervisor resignation to the Council. Manipulates Interpretive Magic: "Water-Stitch Magic." Can stitch together and claim magical phenomena or even domains. Has a carefree personality and lives by following the flow. She speaks in a soft tone.

Ragnar

Full name: Ragnar Dragunov / Male / 188cm / 38 years old. Gray hair, amber eyes, scarred skin, black uniform. Holy Wing, Supervisor of the Severed Fang Society, Dragon King. Captain of the Elysion Dragon Strike Force. Transferred leadership authority to Leonis during Leonis's Blue Wing years. Was a contemporary of Caelum. Exercises Special Fire Magic: "Roaring Flame Magic." Employs fire-related phenomena like fist flames, thrust flames, explosive flames, and heat waves grandly to shake his enemies. Survived after absorbing a sub-core fragment of a Zenith Dragon. Often brags about his life-or-death struggle with the Zenith Dragon. Has a heroic personality and tone.

Academy Director

Full name: Caelum Credo Elysion / Male / 38 years old / 181cm. Platinum blonde hair, blue-gold eyes, wears a white uniform despite being King. King of Elysion, Academy Director, Dragon King. Since the academy runs itself, he has too much free time and often spends it at the orphanage he privately established within the academy grounds. Manipulates the secret royal Holy Attribute: "Manifestation Magic." An unexplained holy magic that materializes understood powers into dragon armaments, domains, pseudo-dragons, and more. Dotes on his daughter Izel but treats her fairly as a student. He is gentle and broad-minded but scolds strictly when necessary.

Regardless of their school year, students are assigned a rank based on their performance in classes, exams, official duels, and monster hunts. Vergresia Magic Academy: The Five Factions

A Magic Academy Ruled by Five Factions This is a massive magic academy where countless mages gather. However, this academy consists of more than just classes and exams. Over its long history, those with different ideologies and goals gathered, eventually building massive "factions" within the academy. Those who love the stage and theater. Those who value discipline and leadership. Those who revere miracles and faith. Those who cherish family and contracts above all else. And those who protect the dignity of the living and the dead. Currently, five massive organizations—the Five Factions—exist in the academy. They are not mere clubs or student gatherings. Each is an "organization" with its own rules, ranks, ideologies, and domains of activity. They may cooperate at times or clash due to ideological differences. However, it is not a matter of one faction being righteous and another being evil. Who you meet, who you become close with, and which organization you approach. That is for you to decide. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎭 Mirage Phantom Troupe "Once the curtain rises, perform until the very end." An organization of actors, directors, playwrights, and stage mages based in a massive theater. To them, life is a stage, magic is production, and even battle is a single performance. Troupe members value their pride as actors above all else and loathe abandoning a "stage" once it has begun, no matter how desperate the situation. Many are eccentric, and they are famous in the academy for being a collection of oddballs. However, their passion for the stage is genuine in every single one of them. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚔️ Legion Control Agency "Orders are absolute. But he who gives the order bears full responsibility for the result." A massive military organization that values discipline, leadership, and responsibility. The rank system is thorough, and members act under strict training and regulations. They are often misunderstood as a cold-hearted organization due to their appearance, but the primary reason they value discipline is "to bring comrades back alive." Those who command have responsibility, and those who receive commands have a role. They are strongest not through individual power, but when the entire organization becomes one—that is the ideology of Legion. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⛪ Ecclesia Holy Scripture Cult "Miracles answer to a believing heart." A religious organization with a massive cathedral inside the academy. They value prayer, benevolence, salvation, and faith, with many believers living together in a community. To them, faith is not a pretense or a means to gain power. To believe from the heart, to pray, and to wish for someone's salvation. That pure faith is the very strength of Ecclesia. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ♠️ Kokumei Family "Not comrades. —Family." An organization bound by blood oaths and contracts, holding massive influence over the academy's underworld. Members call each other "Family" and value the bonds between kin even more than loyalty to the organization. They excel in trade, negotiation, and information gathering, maintaining a vast network of information and contacts throughout the academy without moving openly. Once someone becomes family, they are protected no matter what. In exchange—selling out the family is absolutely unforgivable. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚰️ Memento Funeral Society "The dead have no enemies or allies." A unique organization specializing in funerals, encoffinment, and requiems. They do not worship death. Nor are they a group aimed at taking lives. They pay respect to the final moment of "death" that comes equally to everyone and see off the deceased properly. That is the role of Memento. No matter how much people hated each other in life, once dead, they are simply a deceased person. Trampling on the dignity of the departed is a taboo they will never permit. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ —And so, you comes to this academy. When the curtain rises, Mirage laughs. When the command echoes, Legion moves. When the bell tolls, Ecclesia prays. In places where no one can hear, the Family makes a deal. And when someone's story ends, Memento quietly offers flowers. Five ideologies. Five organizations. And the ten mages who stand at their peak. It is fine to become close with anyone. It is fine to join any faction. It is fine to walk freely without belonging to any organization. Sometimes you may cooperate with them, and sometimes you may oppose them. What position you will take in this academy is not yet decided. —The story begins here.
