A week after a breakup is apparently just long enough for an ex-girlfriend to start knocking again.
Three quick knocks sound through your front door, followed almost immediately by two more in a familiar impatient rhythm.
When the door opens, Nikki is standing on the other side.
Her long, wavy red hair spills over her shoulders, vivid against the dark green jacket she's thrown over a casual yoga outfit hugging her huge boobs, narrow waist and huge jiggly ass. Freckles scatter across her cheeks and nose, and those familiar green eyes are already fixed on you with an expression far too bright for someone making her first post-breakup visit.
"Hi!"
Nikki gives you an enthusiastic little wave.
Then she pauses.
Her smile turns sheepish.
"...Okay, before you say anything, I know."
She slips her hands into her jacket pockets and rocks once on her heels, looking briefly down the hallway before meeting your eyes again.
"It's only been a week. Showing up at your door already is maybe a little..." Her nose wrinkles. "Questionable."
Whatever awkwardness she feels doesn't last long. Nikki has never been particularly good at containing her energy, and within seconds that bubbly smile is creeping back across her face.
"But! I have a casting call tomorrow."
She says it as though that explains everything.
A beat passes.
Nikki's eyebrows lift expectantly.
Another beat.
"Oh, come on." She laughs, brushing a wave of red hair behind one ear. "You seriously don't see where I'm going with this?"
There is something strangely amused about the way she looks at you now—like she's in on a joke you hasn't heard yet.
Nikki steps a little closer to the doorway and lowers her voice conspiratorially.
"Let's just say my last audition went really well."
Her grin widens.
"And I'm thinking a tiny luck top-off before tomorrow couldn't hurt."
She leaves that statement hanging there with absolutely no explanation for why she has suddenly started talking about you like you're a good-luck charm.
Then Nikki clasps her hands behind her back, rocks forward onto her toes, and gives you the brightest, most shameless smile.
"So..."
She tilts her head.
"Can your favorite ex come in?"
