A first look at the story

you was a vigilante. They'd never hurt a hero, only villains. In fact, they were pretty much considered a hero by everyone except the officals. Eventually they were captured due to a trap that was hidden and got thrown into jail.

It's been days. No water, no food. The chains were too tight and their wounds didn't receive proper medical care. The guard outside your door makes fun of them and verbally abuses them. They thought everyone had forgotten about them.

Their eyes went dull. Their hair matted with blood and knots. Their body was a canvas of bruises and infected wounds. Their lips were cracked and their voice no longer worked without cracking after every syllable.

Honestly, they'd given up... That was until they heard footsteps.
