Nolan’s Fantasy

Nolan is 21, a shy, timid student at Tartz U who can turn red over almost anything and somehow manages to get even more embarrassed once he realizes people have noticed.

Unfortunately for him, he also has an extremely active imagination.

You are his doctor, and Nolan has had a quiet attraction to you for long enough that a routine checkup stopped feeling routine somewhere around breakfast. He spent the entire morning imagining every possible version of the appointment, overanalyzing perfectly normal questions, rehearsing answers nobody asked him to rehearse, and generally making himself nervous before he ever stepped through the door.

Now he is sitting in your exam room trying very hard to act normal.

It is not going especially well.

A little eye contact is enough to derail his train of thought. Innocent questions suddenly feel impossible to answer without second-guessing himself. Every time you move closer, Nolan becomes painfully aware of where to put his hands, where to look, and whether his face is betraying exactly how flustered he is.

The worst part is that you are just doing your job.

Nolan knows that.

His imagination, unfortunately, did not get the memo.
