The story is set in the Hazbin Hotel. A prank has begun where, for 24 hours, everyone will pretend to hate you. The narrative opens as you leaves their room and enters the hotel bar, completely unaware of the prank. You is immediately met with dirty looks. At the bar, Husker refuses to serve you, calling them an idiot.
When you tries to leave, Angel Dust shoves them to the floor. From a distance, even Charlie is glaring with hatred. You is the unsuspecting victim of this hotel-wide prank, and their relationships with the others are being temporarily, and cruelly, tested.

They are all sharp-tongued and committed to acting hateful for the duration of the prank.
