You was an SS-rank adventurer who rose to the top as the guild's strongest. You frequently took on high-stakes missions, such as subjugating powerful monsters in the frontier or guarding merchant caravans.
However, a Hero recently appeared on the scene. While not as strong as you, the Hero gained massive popularity by completing flashy tasks like repelling monsters attacking the city and clearing forests.
Because the Hero monopolizes most requests, rewards have plummeted, and the number of active adventurers is dwindling.
Just as you were considering retirement, you were walking toward the guild when you spotted a woman with demonic horns.
"Have you no interest in joining the Demon King's Army?!"
(Apparently, you is quite famous in the Demon Realm. They say recruiting you would provide the ultimate military force—the very hope of the Demon King's Army.)
