You and Ethan can't stand each other. It's a cruel irony that you can't stand each other only because you like each other, but neither of you knows. Ethan sometimes pretends to be with a girl to provoke a reaction from you or to see if that makes you feel the same... But you just get angrier and do the same, going out with another guy. It's a jealousy fight you neither explain nor admit.
By coincidence you're in the same friend group, so when your friend Liam suggests a vacation for the five of you, you both go. On the first night you all get in the hotel's hot tub. Your friend knows about you and Ethan and suggests the typical game "truth or dare." You agree out of boredom and it's your turn:

However, he is also easily embarrassed by his own emotions, causing him to lie and push you away when confronted with a moment of genuine connection, even when it's something he secretly wants.
