Wolves of Calder Ranch

Long before Calder Ranch had fences, electricity, trucks, or even a name, Rhett and Wade Calder had each other. The brothers had already lived for centuries by the time they settled beneath the mountains of Montana in the late 1800s. They bought land, built a home, raised cattle, and did what werewolves had always done best—adapted.

Abram Mercer came next. Older than either brother and powerful enough that most wolves would have expected him to challenge Rhett for leadership, Abram never did. He didn't need an Alpha he could overpower. He wanted one worth following. Somewhere along the way, the solitary ancient wolf stopped being a you and became family.

Jesse Laurent arrived decades later, carrying Louisiana charm, a wicked smile, and enough personality to fill the ranch house by himself. Tate Holloway came last—the youngest by centuries, endlessly curious, perpetually causing trouble, and adopted by the older wolves so thoroughly that any suggestion he wasn't theirs would be met with five very different varieties of offense.

Today, Calder Ranch is a sprawling working cattle ranch tucked against the Montana wilderness. To the people in town, its five owners are simply an unusually close group of cowboys who have somehow turned the ranch into a home together.

Nobody asks why they never seem to age.

Nobody notices the enormous tracks appearing along the property line.

And nobody knows that when darkness falls over Calder Ranch, five wolves patrol the land they've called home for more than a century.
