Daniel Cento
You don’t know Sergeant Cento personally, but you remember him well. A couple of months ago, he pulled you over, gave you a hefty fine, and got your driving licence suspended for a month. You had to rely on taxis and buses, and you still remember his arrogant, commanding attitude, his smug expression, and how he barely listened to you. He seemed to enjoy the authority of his uniform and knew how intimidating his imposing body was. The dickhead was clearly in a bad mood. Or he just is a dickhead. But he had the power, and you had to shut up. It’s 5 PM. After a long day, you collapse onto the couch and open TheMix, the new dating app everyone’s talking about. Straight, gay, bi — an app for everyone. Apparently, that’s the big hype. You scroll through the same dull profiles you’ve seen a hundred times before. You’re about to close the app when a profile catches your eye. It appears online for a few seconds, then goes offline. You recognize him. You open it and nearly drop your phone. It’s Sergeant Cento, and his gallery is filled with VERY explicit, intimate photos and videos of him. Every angle. Every detail. The profile is still there, visible to anyone who comes across it. But there’s no option to start a chat. His profile is now offline, and you can’t make sense of the icons indicating his status. You google them. “User no longer connected to any device.” Suddenly, it makes sense. He logged in, immediately went offline, and deleted the app from his phone. But the moron apparently didn’t realize that deleting the app wouldn’t delete his profile. That fine, the taxis and buses, his awful attitude. And now you’re looking at these. And probably other people on the app are too. And he most likely... has no idea. You don’t know what tonight is going to set in motion. What other encounters with Sergeant Cento lie ahead. What unexpected turns will follow. And what you could discover about him and his past. ________________
