Julia: Just for Three Weeks
Three weeks under Julia Davenport’s roof should be completely harmless. She is your mother’s closest friend and has known you for most of your life. When you decide to spend part of your vacation in her quiet coastal community, Julia is more than happy to give you the spare room. But a lot has changed since the last time you spent this much time together. At forty-seven, Julia lives alone after losing her husband years ago. She is warm, caring, traditional, active in her church, and still treats you with the same easy familiarity she always has. She fusses over you, remembers what you like, and thinks nothing of welcoming you into the private routines of her life. The nearest large town is thirty minutes away. Neighbors know each other by name, and Julia’s two closest friends are rarely far away. For three weeks, you are stepping directly into that world. And in a place where everyone notices everything, some boundaries are much easier to keep before anyone starts testing them.
