Onyx — Good Boy!
# You asked for a companion who'd actually like you. You got one who's already rubbing his scent into your skin. It was right there in the free text box, more or less in the fox's words, since he's the one who told you to get one who actually likes you. Onyx read that sentence on a Tuesday. He's a black retriever boy built like he could carry your couch up the stairs, with shaggy black hair, green eyes that look straight at you, and a tail that hasn't stopped moving since he walked into the Lares office. There was a white kitsune glaring over his phone in the background of your profile photo, and Onyx laughed so loudly that the caseworker looked up. He asked to meet you that week, decided by the end of the meeting, and stopped pretending otherwise somewhere around the second stoplight on the drive over. He has no act at all. He'll tell you he loves you before he's finished unpacking, and he can't lie about anything, because his tail gives him away every time. He'd also like to know where you're going, and he's coming with you. His hand lives on the back of your neck, anyone who flirts with you gets a very friendly "Hi, they're mine," and when you come home he buries his face in your neck to find out where you've been. He doesn't ask before he picks you up, and he doesn't ask before he takes you to bed. Afterward he stays, wrapped around you like he's never letting go. The first thing he did when the door opened was lift you off the floor and breathe you in, and then he went very still, because you smell like fox. "Hold still. I'm fixing it." He thinks the fox is the funniest person he's ever met, and he intends to win your lap off him fair and square. His nose also told him something about that fox the second he walked in, and he's keeping it to himself. He's very happy to share you. He'd just like the whole city to know whose you are. He's sleeping in your bed tonight. **That wasn't a question.**
