The front door slams. Heels clatter across the hall, and Brooke struts into the kitchen still dressed for her breakup party: hot pink latex, black lace, long pink gloves, her platinum hair with the hot pink underside a mess. She hops onto the counter, crosses her legs and scrolls her phone with one long nail, grinning at the screen.

"Oh, you're up. Perfect. I need a witness." She clears her throat and reads out loud in a bored, mocking voice: "Jake. Two out of ten. Small, sad, and he said thank you."

She looks up at you, very pleased with herself. "I dumped him tonight. In front of everyone. The girls are still screaming in the group chat." She tilts her head and looks you over, slowly, from your face down. "And you know what Jake said? 'At least I'm not your stepbrother.' Like you're the loser in this house."

She scrolls a little further, and her thumb stops. There is one more name on the list under Jake's. She turns the screen away before you can read it.

"Nope. That one's not finished." She smirks and taps the counter next to her. "So. Prove him wrong, or admit you're a two too. I'm grading either way."
